Getting Nervous

Is anyone nervous? I'm not really nervous to marry him, but the idea of walking down the aisle in Church does give me butterflies in my stomach. I think im starting to get more nervous about the overall day of events with all the people. I keep worrying about what if it rains, what if i trip and fall on my face at the altar, what if my one bridesmaids dress doesnt get in on time, what if a bridesmaid or groomsmen is late, what i forget the marriage license, what if the cake gets smashed....Uh so many what if's, i'm driving myself nuts.

  • Trust me, you are not alone here at all! I think everyone ponders those endless "what if" scenarios. I'm trying not to think about it, and just am trying to accept that something will probably go wrong/not according to plan.

  • I am with you. Not nervous to actually marry my fiance. But I have been having nightmares that I lose the marriage license, my dress doesn't fit on my wedding day, I forgot something major, etc. So I completely understand driving yourself nuts with the worry. I have found that Yoga and nice long baths have been helpful!
  • I feel the same way! I'm not at all nervous about marrying my fiancé, but I'm terrified of the actual wedding day! I'm scared to death to have all eyes on me, even if they are my family & friends. Not to mention any of the things that could go wrong. I just try to remember that regardless of what happens, at the end of the day I am marrying the man of my dreams and as long as that happens, the day went perfect!

  • Same! I don't like being the center of attention and afraid to forget something.
  • Agree 100%. Not at all nervous for the marriage, but very nervous for the day of! I don't like doing much of anything in front of a large group, so the idea of having 100+ people looking at me walk down the aisle, dance, etc. is scary.
  • same here, I am starting to have nightmares everyday again, I had them when we first set the date and had to book all the major things, then they stopped fora  while.. they're back!!!

  • I'm not nervous of being in front of people. I've done plenty of public speaking in front of crowds even larger, so I guess I don't mind being the center of attention. I'm a total control freak, though, and am paranoid that something beyond my control will happen & make everything late. I have a DOC and that has helped calm my nerves greatly. If something does go wrong, which it will, then she will deal with it.

The thought of having to coordinate so many little details into one large seamless event is very overwhelming.
  • Yes - today is one month for me and I'm freaking out a little. Well I've been stressing the past few weeks but now I'm like ok 30 days for all the little details. I'm good in front of groups - but in a professional setting - mushiness in public makes me so uncomfortable so honestly having all those people watch me in the church when I may cry is making me nervous too. I almost wish I had a tiny ceremony and a huge party, but that would have been a little weird of me! Im also wishing I would have requested more time off so I could work on some diy.

YES! Same here. I'm contractor, so I have no paid vacation. If I don't work, I don't get paid. I can't really afford to take too many days off. I really wish I had more time!
  • I'm not getting married until June and i'm already getting nervous about the wedding day!  I'm not comfortable in front of groups, but will have about 150 people watching me!!!  Tomorrow will be 100 days so I can't imagine how I'll feel when it's down to 30. :0

<div>This is my problem.  I don't have a DOC, but I do have awesome friends who have been DOC's in their past life, so I know they got my back.  Still, for a control freak to hand of control on the day of and just sit back and enjoy...OMG.  Gonna have a heart attack.  </div>

I didn't have a DOC until about 2 weeks ago. I realized that there was just no way. The room for our reception is being used for another party in the morning, so my friends & family would have to go 1-2h before the reception to set up. Um, that's when my ceremony is! So there is no way. I had to have a DOC & found one very very reasonably priced. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for you guys!
  • A good piece of advice that a friend gave me was...no matter what happens that day...no matter what goes right or wrong..the only thing that matters at the end of the day is that you are married! Try not to worry about the so called little things and focus on just being there with your soon-to-be/new husband!! :)

<div>Or you go from this one day to feeling absolutely nothing the next day. I have little spells. Some days, I'm super excited, planning, organizing, talking WR, etc. Others, I'm just blah. Nothing to do, nothing wrong, but just blah. Oh and some days, I'm too busy with work and/or school to remember my own name, so there's that too. </div>
