Another co-worker invite question

I’m part of an 8 woman team at work. I got engaged when I
was the newcomer on the team 1 ½ years ago and decided in the time since that I
wanted my team at the wedding, which is now just 6 months away. I didn’t send
them save-the-dates but was planning to get everyone’s addresses and guest
information this summer to prepare invitations and envelopes for them. Only 2
women on my team (who I’m closer with) know they’re getting invited because I
told them a while back that I was inviting the team. No one else knows but I
had planned to let everyone know closer to invitation-sending time in
September.

My boss just let me know today that she’s retiring in June.
I still want to invite her to the wedding, but I’m worried that whoever
replaces her will start before my wedding date – will it be awkward to not
invite this new person?

Still in shock that my boss is retiring. She’s seriously
awesome.

Re: Another co-worker invite question

  • I don't think you're required to invite the new boss, but I would refrain from wedding talk around him/her if you don't.
  • I did not invite my boss, but I did invite 8 co workers. I wouldn't worry about it. You don't have to invite people just because you work with them.
