So I got rear ended today.

1. That actually sounds really sexual. THIS IS NOT SEXUAL.

2. I was stopped at a red light (on my way to get my nails done) and someone drove into me! My car is BRIGHT RED!

Thankfully I'm ok, my car is mostly ok (there are some scratches on the bumper from his bumper which I'm TOTALLY going to get fixed through his insurance thanks buddy). More annoying than anything! AND I was late for my nail appointment (but my nails look super cute!). I've already called my insurance (I did that 5 minutes after).

Someone please tell me good Friday stories, because my weekend isn't off to the best start!

Re: So I got rear ended today.

  • Oh no! That's terrible. I'm glad you and the car are ok :)

My Friday hasn't been great. Our house lost power and BC Hydro told us they wouldn't fix it because the owners failed to remove a tree that is too close to the power line for the house. The owners are always a pain to get a hold of or to fix anything. But they just drove by again and it looks like construction knocked out power foe our whole area. So since it isn't the line close to the tree, we should have power soon. We were looking at days without so I was freaking out.

  • @kaitlynmichelle Oh no! How annoying! I'd had to be without power for the whole weekend. Although, knowing DH, he'd just move us to a hotel for the weekend, which wouldn't be SO bad. :P
  • Aw, Jenny, I'm sorry! What a PITA. I hope the guy was at least apologetic. And if not, at least your nails look fly.

My awesome Friday story is that DH and I got VIP tickets to an event where we'll be watching the boxing match this weekend. Normally this would not excite me at all, but for some reason I'm super pumped about it.

  • I was on the phone with the insurance company during my nail appointment, and I think my regular girl felt sorry for me because she totally gave me a cute (FREE!) design on my accent nail (chevron!) and a 5 minute neck massage while waiting for my nails to dry.
  • @JennyColada that's a nice free perk!

I already had texted BIL mentioning if this went on for awhile we'd be coming over to use their shower. Other BIL lives upstairs and he was chatting with the construction workers that caused the problem and based on how wide spread it is, we're hoping it gets worked on asap. I'm really fed up with the construction company, this has happened way too many times by accident or because they had to cut the power to work on stuff but failed to mention we'd be out of power for 8 to 12 hours on our day off.

I just finished work.    DH showed up with 5 of his chefs/cooks for a "meeting".  This "meeting" included a huge bottle of Grey Goose.  I do hear a lot of food talk. So guess it's productive.

I'm upstairs now watching TV because I'm just not interested on what they are doing.

ETA - sorry about your accident.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

I'll be honest - I didn't know who was who until yesterday when our tickets were confirmed. That's how closely I follow/care about boxing. :)

Mostly I'm excited for the atmosphere and the buffet.....

It's not a knock on you for going; he gets his $100million whether you go to the party or not :)

  • Oh no! Did you tell him "RED MEANS STOP!"?

We had our anatomy scan this morning and little Tidbit is, and I quote, "perfect." No concerns whatsoever, 10 little fingers, 10 little toes, super long legs that were kick-kick-kicking away (but I couldn't feel it)! And baby sleeps like Daddy, with one arm up over the head.

Aaaaand my boss just gave me a dark chocolate cherry truffle, which was divine.
    But is he a lady?

  • Wow thats so shitty! I'm glad you're okay.

I'm excited because I bought a new (to me) car, that gets dropped off tonight! Unfortunately I can't insure/register it until next week, so no driving it around this weekend :(

I'm also excited for the fight. SO is a big boxing/mma fan and used to train with some bigger names (for Canada), and he's waaay pumped for it.

No, Tidbit will most certainly NOT be a lady, no matter the sex. ;)
Whatever, your child WILL be royalty, damnit!

  • That sucks. My car's been rear ended 3 times - two were actually rather scary (though luckily no one got hurt and my car got fixed) but the middle one was kind of like yours. I was stopped in a line at a red light that was on a hill. The lady behind me got distracted by someone else in the car, took her foot off the brake, and rolled right into me. The screws on her license plate holder punched holes in my bumper. Seriously? Absurd. I mean, who gets read ended by someone who has already stopped at a stop light?

Glad you and (except for the scratches) your car are okay.

I wish my meetings allowed liquor. FI and a few of his buddies always had "meetings" in Auburn around pitchers of PBR. They were fun to watch (although at first completely outside my comfort zone) and always made my mouth water talking about the specials for the next day.

I'm home alone with my dad. He's pouting; he got left behind today when my mom and sister went to see my brother, and he's being pissy and it's pissing me off. My poor mother can't do anything without him pouting about something.

  • make sure you get your whole car looked it (covered by his insurance of course).

I was rear ended at a stop light and when I looked, I also thought there was just some paint damage- I even drove it home just fine. I had it looked at, and it turned out to be a whole lot more, alignment issues, etc.

Yea, I have an appointment Tuesday morning (the shop that we go to doesn't take in cars on Friday or over the weekend). While it just seems like minor damage, I feel like they'll recommend to just replace the bumper, which I'm fine with since I'm not paying! I'm also going to rent a car to cover me for the time that I'm out mine.
