Another May 2 Wedding (no drama here either!) AW/PIP

We got married! Everything turned out more perfectly than I
could have imagined. Our families were on their best behavior and everyone had a great time! And the weather was perfect!

Friday afternoon was a disaster. I got my nails done at a
salon I hadn’t been to before and they turned out awful. I asked the lady to
fix them as best she could (they still look awful and I hate having these
damned things on my hands) and it took a long time. We got stuck in the suburbs
at rush hour, got stuck in traffic, missed our scheduled rehearsal, and were
late to the RD. Thankfully my BM was with me to let me vent all my stress and
then make soothing mom noises until we got there. I told myself all the bad
things happened on Friday so they wouldn’t happen on Saturday. Finally got to
the RD and it was fabulous! A good time was had by all, and FI loved his groom’s
cake. Afterward two of my BMs came over (without being asked – I was planning
to do it all myself) and insisted on staying up late to help me make bouquets
and tidy the apartment. Then I looked at my dress and realized it hadn’t been
pressed the way I asked. I decided not to stress about it, went to bed, and
woke up early the next morning to press the pleats myself. I was nervous but
they turned out great!

On Saturday, almost everything went as scheduled. My BM and
her mom (who’s like a mom to me) brought over breakfast and helped get
everything ready. My grandma was so excited to see that I wore the veil she
made for my mom. The ceremony was beautiful and I didn’t ugly cry. The caterer
set up the reception perfectly, and it was even better than I had envisioned. We got to sit down and eat and the food was amazing. I was nervous that my brother was going to be dramatic but he got up and gave a sweet little speech. I
have to give a shout out to @labro and @southernpeach89 for recommending an
AMAZING DJ who did a great job of working the crowd. We had a small afternoon
wedding but people were having fun on the dance floor the entire time. About 30
minutes before the reception was scheduled to end, my dress was starting to
hurt and FI was exhausted so we exited a little early. We got to the hotel,
changed, and went out to a romantic dinner. I’m so glad we did because it was a
great way to unwind and talk about all our favorite moments from the day while
it was just the two of us.

Right now I only have the pics that have been posted to facebook but they are really great!
