Including website with invitation?

If there is a similar thread, point me to it, and sorry!

I know it's rude to include registry info in the invitation, but what about your website?
Obviously, I won't be putting the website ON the invitation, but would it be rude to include an insert card with our website? Our website has hotel information (all guests are OOT), things to do in the area, and our registry info, among other things.

I don't think it's rude to include an insert card with your website listed on it, although I personally wouldn't have your registry information on your website.

  • I am including our wedding website on an insert in the invitations. Mine also has all of hotel/airport info, info on the venue location and just some fun things to do in the area since most of the guests are from OOT and mine has the registry info too and I know that can be considered tacky, I might take that off I'm not sure yet.

I don't think it's rude. It honestly came in really handy when I lost the directions to my friends wedding I was able to just use her website.

  • It's perfectly fine and generally a good idea to include an insert with your website in with your invitation. Particularly with travelling guests, access to that info is helpful.

Conventional wisdom is that it's acceptable to include a list of your registries (not a bunch of discussion about it or poems about money) on your website, so long as it is discretely placed. Personally, I wasn't comfortable even doing that. It felt too much like affirmatively giving out registry info without being asked.
  • Thanks ladies - this was helpful!

My registries are the last thing on my website. I didn't say anything with it, just links to the the 2 registries (no "we have everything we need in each other, but if you want to get us a gift...gag).
We're inviting 200 people, so it really is just easier to have it there instead of have that many people ask us. If enough knotties came out and blatantly said "this is rude" I would discuss with FI about taking it off.

    That's fine.

There's nothing wrong with having the registry info on the website, as long as it's not the main feature.

We had an insert card printed that says "for hotel accommodations and wedding weekend events please see our website"

The website is the easiest way to keep everyone updated on what is going to be happening.
