Update on my back and uterus

So, I went to physical therapist, today.  He is thinking I have a herniated disc because of my back issues and how it presents itself.  Do I have any discs left in my back? Lol. I can't get an MRI because we are TTC. I have a bunch more back exercises to do to add to my regimen.  I thought I was going to get in shape for my brother's wedding... that won't be happening. I did resist the urge to go to Cracker Barrel and drown my sorrows in apple pancakes with whipped cream.  I am really proud of myself.
Also, I had blood work done to see what the hell is up with my uterus.  I get secondary blood work done in the middle of the month to check hormone levels, thyroid, and a bunch of other crap. My Gyn will go from there and figure out what steps we will need to take to get pregnant. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  • Sending positive thoughts!  Could you get the MRI if you knew for sure you weren't pregnant?  Just continue to eat right and that should help.  Can you walk for an extended period of time or does that hurt your back?

And I hope your Gyno has some answers for you sooner rather than later.

On a side note, I love Cracker Barrel and I wish there was one closer to me because I would be there all the time.

  • Cardio, especially walking is too intense, right now.  It's hard because I can't take muscle relaxers which is why my back has only gotten worse. I plan on icing my back, and doing my exercises every hour. Hopefully, I will be able to start cardio in a couple of weeks.

Sending good vibes your way!  I hope your back gets better with more PT, and that your doc has some more answers.

I like Cracker Barrel because I can buy the BIG Smarties.

You can't get an MRI if you are TTC?  Why is that?  I have never heard that.

Have you looked into inversion?  I have an awful, awful back and am in pain all day everyday for the most part.  Hanging on my inversion table makes it bearable.
  • Can't you just get a MRI during the first two weeks of your cycle?  You can schedule it ahead of time to be within that two weeks and if you end up pregnant (yay!) you can just cancel the MRI.

Are you able to do any sort of water aerobics?

  • I guess I could probably go for an MRI next month if I don't wind up pregnant.  I wouldn't want to do anything this month because I am getting blood work done, so I my routine has to be somewhat typical to find out if I have any issues with my body to keep it as normal as possible.  The MRI doesn't really matter, I just have to do exercises consistent with that injury.  (As I never plan on having surgery on my back).
And yes @kaos16, I have used an inversion table and it is fabulous. Maybe I will spring for one, soon. I will also get a very nice lumbar pillow for when I am a passenger n other people's vehicle.  Most driver's side seats have lumbar support but passenger sides almost never come with them.  With disc problems, posture is extremely important to keep from being in pain.

I have the "Teeter Hang Ups" brand and I really enjoy it.  I don't know what your price range is, but I think mine was maybe $120. . . . totally worth it in my opinion.
