RSVP due date tomorrow

we have 86 guests confirmed so far and 20 guests decline.

There are several still to come and by my calculation we will end up between 120-130 guests which is right around what we were expecting.

We invited around ~160

I am not too bummed because like 4 families we sent invites to we knew beforehand it was very unlikely they would make it.

I am still excited of how everything is falling into place! :) I can't wait to marry my best friend

Re: RSVP due date tomorrow

  • So tomorrow is Sunday, so I'd wait until Wednesday to call people. Some people put the RSVP in the mail on the due date. If that is the case they won't get mailed until Monday.

    When is your wedding?

I have to hand the final count to the DOC/Decorator this week and we put for phone/email confirmations

We only have a few left though. Several people confirmed since I posted. We are up to 103/23

That was the same weekend I got married last year. We also invited about 160 and had 110 attend.

    Good luck!

  • I hope you get a ton more confirmations by tomorrow. I have to give final numbers "January 8 or 9" (as told by the venue) and I put my RSVPS deadline at January 7. I'm thinking I should not have done that now and may buy more RSVP cards.

@hellohkb definetky build in time for slower holiday mail time and chasing people down. We gave ourselves a week
  • Build in time!! My due date was yesterday and I am missing 40 cards. I figured this would happen because our hillbilly families think you can just show up at a wedding and decide the night before if you are coming. I gave myself about a week and a half to make the calls.

Our due date is in a couple of weeks and I already know I'm going to have to chase people down. It's a cultural thing with my family, weddings are seen as giant neighborhood events so one one thinks their party's attendance makes a difference one way or the other. Trying to introduce confirming your attendance into that cultural environment has been an uphill battle.

  • We also invited 160 and had about 105 attend. I was pretty happy with that number. It was comfortable enough for us to speak to everyone, but also overwhelming enough that we felt so loved.

  • we are up to 111 yes 33 no and 5 yet to confirm and 1 maybe (his job will let him know on June 5th )

  • This was so annoying. We invited 159, had I think 10 decline, and like 20 no replies. We spent all last weekend hunting people down. We are at 132 confirmed and just had a couple cancel earlier today. Final numbers were due Friday. Wooooosahhhh.

3 of the missing confirmations are my dad and some of his family -.-

the other is a cousin of mine whose invite got returned and was resent a week and a half ago so we are giving them a few more days JIC and one of Fi's coworker whom he has yet to contact

Im kinda sad that a lot of the declines are from FI's family :( I hope they don't feel overwhelmed with my family.

Most of my family that has declined is because they came to my cousin's wedding on May 2 or they just bought a house/moved to japan. So I am very understanding in that sense.

Yes, this, do build in some time. You need maybe a week I'd say. We had a lot of non-responders and some took time to track down. Two people (both H's immediate family) were continuing to hem and haw about whether they were bringing anyone to the wedding until about four days before the wedding - we invited them with their SOs, but they weren't sure if their SOs were coming or if they would bring a friend or no one. Because they were VIPs and we needed the count for the caterer 10 days out I just went ahead and included two spots for those people.

We are in a similar situation. Our RSVP date was set for the 15th and I think we have only 4 or 5 people who we haven't heard from. I was going to wait until Wednesday before talking with anyone.
