thinking about shadowing a bridal consultant

so ever since getting married and trying on dresses and being obsessed with bridal i wanted to go and shadow a bridal consultant for the day to see what it is like in her job, i have 16+ years in retail experenece working for a big box retailer in what we call softlines ( clothing acesssories shoes, etc) i know in my dress journey i had a hard time finding dresses that would fit until i found this amazing salon who had plus sizes and lots of them.

how would i go about asking a salon if i could shadow them for the day. i have been researching trends in bridal right now and all kinds of dresses. would walking to a salon in person and talking to the manager work, calling up or emailing them. its something i wanted to do for a while

I think I would start by calling - if you're looking at the salon you bought your dress from, it might be a plus in your favor.

IMO - be out of "bride" mode for a bit first before you call to see about this as a possibility. Check the hiring/careers link on their website as that may be a good start. You never know, but it's always a "no" if you don't ask!

When you do go in, take a resume with you. I have had jobs where I called in to apply and they wanted information that day, right then and there.

Honestly, no salon is going to want you getting in the way shadowing their consultant. If you are qualified to work at a salon, and have the retail experience, apply for a job.
