  Hi! My friend that had a beach wedding just wore fancy flip flops that had a little heel to them. 

  On another note, maybe you can help me?!  I am looking into a Florida Keys wedding for November 2015 and am looking for exactly what you are doing, ceremony on beach with reception beachside on a patio.  Where did you end up choosing?  I'd appreciate any information you can give!!

  I agree with PP ^^^ Sandals with a strap to hold your heel would be nice so they don't slip and slide.

  
  

  If it were me, I would go barefoot on the beach and then put on the sandals for the reception.

  I would wear this on the beach and then something comfy on the deck. Nothing with heels the might get stuck in between the planks.

  What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

  I'm having a beach wedding in Hawaii. I'll be barefoot in the sand for the ceremony, but I'll wear shoes to the garden reception.  I'm planning to wear Dolce Vita Archer silver sandals, though I'm bringing along some Coach low wedge sandals too just in case I change my mind.

  I can't walk correctly on the beach in any type of shoes.  I say go barefoot and then have a nice pair of sandals ready for afterwards.

  I know this is irrelevant, OP, since your wedding is past (congrats!) but for future brides I'd say sandals or nothing. I wore simple ballet flats on my beach wedding and it was so awkward to walk. I sunk in the sand, sand got in my shoes and made them uncomfortable, and they looked dirty.
