guests who won't commit

We are having a destination wedding in the clearwater area. We are having a plated dinner for the reception and need a pretty accurate head count. We asked everyone to RSVP by a specific date but we are having people say they are still not sure or they are trying to work it out so they can make it. How do you handle guests who won't commit?

<div>Call them and tell them you need and answer. They might be afraid to say no. I had to call people and ask and when they didn't answer I had to tell them it is ok to say no. I understood they couldn't make it. </div>
  • I had the same problem.  My wedding is in 12 days and there are STILL 50+ people who didn’t send their RSVP back.  We called, text’d, facebooked, etc.  Some answered, some didin’t.  Those that didn’t, we have counted them out.

As they contact me, I just tell them that we tried to reach them a week ago but we had to submit our final headcount and they weren’t in it.

It sucks, but its not our fault.
