There is a completely non-tech-related post from Riley about how they totally realize the TOS don't make sense, they're "working on it," and that if you aren't sure what's okay to say, don't worry! The mods and admins will be sure to warn you.

If you get a warning, you must "take time to cool off." Replying immediately is something un-calm people do. So, presumably, is questioning anything, ever. (I can only assume this is the case based on the admins' tendency to shower us with non-information, then close the thread).

If you disagree, it won't matter, because mods/admins "look at context," which means they can gaslight you into having said/implied something you never did.

If you report a post that has already been reviewed (note: you have no way of knowing whether this has happened) you will be warned for abusing the report button.

It's all perfectly clear and definitely acceptable.

I know I am no reg at all, and haven't been around long, but that whole incident was completely confusing and I can't believe that the admins/KG responded the way that they did. And to just close a thread because people are getting frustrated? I rolled my eyes hard.

I am enormously relieved that we now have psychic moderators, who can look into our words and discern intention and subtext.

I am really all tickled pink about the "cooling off" period. This is an excellent technique to use with five year olds. You need to take a time out, and no talking in the time out chair, and you are allowed to talk when time out is over, and we want to hear a happy good girl voice.

I don't find this at all a condescending or insulting way to communicate with other adults.

It's an excellent way to run a kindergarten.

Then I best be able to still drop an F bomb when I feel like it. And I think you guys really need to figure out exactly what the fuck those terms mean, and define them.

I'm sure she was much, much better. Knottie Jail (pronounced "spa") is a lovely place. I would go back again if I could! You learn lovely things like how to be lovely and if you are sarcastic and say vulgar, nasty things they don't replace you with robot parts at all not at all not at all. They just ask you not to swear and never to talk about your husbands no no parts because those are no nos and you can't talk about them but I don't know if I am allowed to talk about them to say you can't talk about them--- no I wasn't talking about it. I didn't say the word! I said we weren't allowed!

Please do not bring up the existence of dictionaries. Reminding people of dictionaries when they are clearly struggling to understand what words mean is very negative. It's better to take @Fran1985's approach, and give in. Just because something is objective nonsense is no reason to make a person (or god forbid, a company!) feel bad.

ETA: It would also be very poor form indeed to mention any persistent technological problems that contribute to a site's UI, such as, for example, infuriating quote boxes.
