In case you haven't checked the Tech Help Board in a while

There is a completely non-tech-related post from Riley about how they totally realize the TOS don't make sense, they're "working on it," and that if you aren't sure what's okay to say, don't worry! The mods and admins will be sure to warn you.

If you get a warning, you must "take time to cool off." Replying immediately is something un-calm people do. So, presumably, is questioning anything, ever. (I can only assume this is the case based on the admins' tendency to shower us with non-information, then close the thread).

If you disagree, it won't matter, because mods/admins "look at context," which means they can gaslight you into having said/implied something you never did.

If you report a post that has already been reviewed (note: you have no way of knowing whether this has happened) you will be warned for abusing the report button.

It's all perfectly clear and definitely acceptable.

  • I know I am no reg at all, and haven't been around long, but that whole incident was completely confusing and I can't believe that the admins/KG responded the way that they did. And to just close a thread because people are getting frustrated? I rolled my eyes hard.

Please respect the fact that this thread is closed for comments. This includes gifs. I feel that this gif MAY be a personal attack? But I won't report it, lest someone else already has and I will receive a warning for abusing the button. Thank you.

  • I am enormously relieved that we now have psychic moderators, who can look into our words and discern intention and subtext.

I am really all tickled pink about the "cooling off" period. This is an excellent technique to use with five year olds. You need to take a time out, and no talking in the time out chair, and you are allowed to talk when time out is over, and we want to hear a happy good girl voice.

I don't find this at all a condescending or insulting way to communicate with other adults.
It's an excellent way to run a kindergarten.

Also not hypocritical of someone who closed the thread with a heated "stop it!" and then never came back or replied to anyone again. Nope.
PINK. STOP IT. I SAID THIS THREAD IS CLOSED.

I can't imagine what you might be talking about. Threads about the TOS, The Knot as a company, or the admins in particular are NOT to be commented on. I'm just trying to follow the rules, here.

I hope you are not joking about this. TK Jail is a very real thing, and we should all be very careful about mocking its existence in any way. Please observe that this thread is closed to comments, innocent or otherwise (I am giving you the benefit of the doubt but I worry, CW. I worry you're falling into the Wrong Crowd).

Then I best be able to still drop an F bomb when I feel like it.  And I think you guys really need to figure out exactly what the fuck those terms mean, and define them.

Heavens, that TOS sure is a sensitive and moody soul, isn't it?

There should be like some kind of...book with all the words in it and their definitions. And it should be aviable on-line. Like a reference of some sort.
