Here's our two.... Deacon and Winnie. Deacon is on the couch in his fav spot with an old pillow. He's 10, which is getting to be on the older side for a basset hound

Winnie is the puppy, although she's almost 2. Last pic is them hanging out with me in the morning while I get ready for work.

Here are my two bassets. The first one is a rescue who was shipped to CT from a high kill 'shelter' in Arkansas. Her first home up here didn't work out so we took her. Gabby is the first basset that we've had that can smile.

The second and third pictures are of Luna, our purebred basset hound. Luna is nosey and likes to stand on the picnic table for a better view of the neighborhood.

Our next dog will be a rescue.

I lovelovelove kitties but OMG basset hounds are the best! We used to have a purebreed one when I was little and I loved her to bits! They are just so droopy looking its adorable!

Yay another basset!!!! How old is Luna? She and Winnie have similar coloring, but Winnie was the runt of her litter so she's always been a little skinny, not all fat and delicious like your Luna.

Luna was 7 months old in that picture. She was on of a litter of 3, so all those pups were huge. She weighs about 60 lbs now. She will turn 2 in July on my birthday. Definitely fat and delicious. We are working on her weight and my weight, too.

Wow she's a big girl! Deacon is 55 lbs and he's pretty hefty. Winnie's only about 35-40lbs and is just now starting to fill out a bit, she's just been petite, despite us free feeding. She likes to eat poop though.

My first basset hound, the one that got me hooked for life on bassets was petite 35 - 40 lbs. Carmen liked to be carried around like a baby.

I've shared their names and I've posted a picture of my kitty before, but here they are in full.

B*tch, Peas (Peas) is a white German shepherd who we took in after previous owners had to surrender her for medical issues. She is 60ish pounds of puppy sweetness and the best running buddy a gal could ask for. She's about a year and a half old. Her hobbies include running along the fence with the neighbor's pit bull (her new best friend), following me everywhere, trying to get the cat to play with her, and making weird sound effects.

Last, but never least, is I don't Carrot All (Carrot), my beautiful orange tabby cat. When we first adopted him, he had no name. He was found in a field nearby and brought to the shelter as a feral cat. They soon discovered he was fixed and, thus, had most definitely been someone's pet. He was severely malnourished and looked so ugly, but his sweetness made us fall for him. Turns out his previous owners had done a home declaw job on his front paws (he has atrocious scarring), and he'd gotten tapeworm while outside. He has IBD and has to take specialty food for it. He is 12 and a half pounds of purring joy and, since day one, has greeted us at the door any time we come home. He lays with us most of the night, bats harmlessly at the dog when she tries to play with him, and is in general a darling, lazy fluff ball. He's around three, we guess. He is the perfect example of how adoption saves pets and their people.

ETA: I know I rambled quite a bit. I love talking about why adoption is awesome and I love hearing about success stories.

Here is Kahlua. She's 9 months old, Lab/Australian Sheppard mix

I am obsessed with the ways she sleeps.

she loves playing fetch, and always seems to find the biggest stick wherever we go.

These are my babies!! Annie is the G. Shep mix, Shrimp is the brindle English Mastiff mix, and Jaxx is the black and white Pittie Pie. The orange kitty is Panini and the calico tabby is Bast'et.

They're all very special, but Shrimp is a little extra special. He came to us with a traumatic brain injury that made him blind in his right eye, so he constantly turns in circles to left. He can't really walk straight or keep his balance very well. He also has seizures on occasion, and has to be on medication. He's such a sweet, sweet puppy.
