s/o laundry, DH funny

I got home from the shower Sunday and DH was very proud that he "put a big dent in the laundry."  Yes, honey.  You did a great job putting two loads in the washer and dryer.  Let's forget about folding and putting away that take actual time.

Especially the socks.  How can I never mate them all OR let go of the ones that consistently don't have a mate? It's like I hope that my socks will magically reproduce in the laundry process.

DK hates when I match his socks because a hole means it goes in the trash. I don't know how he's managing to destroy them so quickly, but I usually end up throwing away 3 or 4 socks every time I do his laundry. (he almost always does the whites for this reason.)

I do not understand people who can wear socks with holes.  I don't even wear socks 90% of the time (yay fuzzy lined boots), but with a hole?  Hell no.

Oh hell, DS can do this part of the laundry, he actually enjoys it.  No interest in learning how to fold, sadly.

DefConn loves to help run and switch loads too.

M2 has a terrible habit of leaving things inside out.  Until she learns she gets to sit next to me and right side out everything.

I actually don't hate laundry or even really mind it.  It was just funny how much he forgets goes into it.  It's all folded in a basket when he gets home Tuesday afternoons.

  • I don't really mind doing laundry, and I hate when H tries to help.  I like it sorted and done a certain way so like to do it myself.  But, I hate putting it away - that's the worst part.

holes are mostly evil if your toe goes through and it cuts off circulation

I'm sure my parents would say this never happened, but I can say quite firmly that for a while in middle/high school, I didn't have access to socks w/o holes (because my sisters can be jackasses sometimes), so I learned to plug the hole with a cottonball so it wouldn't suck out my toe.  It was absurd and obnoxious and I need to throw away my socks and start over because they're in tath state.
  • Yes, holey socks were a staple of my childhood (my sisters were also jackasses).  I think that's why I'm emphatically opposed to them now.
  • his sock holes are almost always in his heels. it must be the way he's walking. eventually he'll start complaining that he has no socks and i tell him to stop bitching and go buy some.

Sibling jackasses trigger lots of things.  I was at my sister's house last year and she was wearing socks w/ my initals on the bottom.  She's still sometimes a jackass ;)

The socks w/ holes are cleaned, and currently are in a pile in the basement, to use in science projects.  They're useful things you want to smash and not loose pieces of.  Tie off hole, stick geode in sock.  tie off other end of sock.  Hand child the sock full of rock and a hammer, and let them smash away.
But I"m guessing not everyone has that use for holey socks. :P
