DB invites? Has anyone used them?

I've been looking at invitations online at minted and wpd but they are way far out of our budget. With the invites, RSVP cards, and reception cards, it was upwards of $1000. I looked on David's Bridal and found some invitations that are about a quarter of the cost for everything but I'm wondering about the quality. My expensive taste doesn't quite match my not so lush budget. For anyone that used David's Bridal invitations, were you happy with them? How was the quality of the paper, printing, etc? Or if anyone has any other suggestions please share!

  • Can you order samples?  That is the only way to be certain they meet your standards.  You might check out Invitations by Dawn for traditional, formal invitations at a decent price.
Be sure and check your wording with us before you order.  Some invitation sellers have terrible wording advice!

If I remember correctly, in the DB store they had a section for their invitations.  You could actually see samples and feel the quality of them.  I am pretty sure that my invitations also came from Invitations by Dawn.  I remember ordering a bunch of samples before choosing.  We did those seal and send invitations that you just fold up with no envelope, so I actually sent the ones I was interested in using to my sister in a different state to make sure that they made it through the mail without issue.

    Good luck!
  • They're having a sale right now to get 5 samples for free. Go order some!

That's all I've done so far, but I like the samples I received. I'd lean toward their heavier cardstock, but none of it seemed particularly flimsy. I posted about the samples in another thread on this topic a few weeks ago (I think it's still on the front page of this board; you should check it out!) and had some concerns about the thermography printing method. I've since decided that the uneven lines are a trick of the light in my apartment; it's beautiful raised lettering, but it's also quite glossy and the light bounces around.

  • I LOVED mine. I did the "bundle" and they came out beautiful and so inexpensive compared to other samples. And it's SIMPLE. Maybe I could have spent less if I got a design from etsy, got them printed by myself or something but it was just so easy and I loved the results.

You can use your FI's email and get another 5, or do what I did and use your parents to get a total of 15 samples.

  • We loved our DB invitations.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
