Who pays for the limo that carries the bride and groom away after the reception?

The bride and groom are leaving the reception and traveling to a hotel in a nearby city. The next day they are boarding a flight for their honeymoon. Who pays for the limo from the reception to the hotel? The bride's family or the groom?

  • It's pretty safe to automatically assume if you're getting married you are paying for everything yourself. If someone specifically offers money (like a parent or grandparent), find out what they want to pay for and what stipulations they set on it before you decide to accept.

  • Depends who is contributing to the wedding in general.

    not really.

The answer is always the couple.

Now if some wants to contribute to getting a limo, then great.  Just because someone is contributing to a wedding, does not mean the money is earmarked for a limo.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • The bride and groom pay for it. If either set of parents decides to offer to cover it, that's very nice of them. But by no means are they obligated.

  • Huh?  The bride and groom are traveling in the limo.  They pay for it.

No, the answer is NOT always the couple. My point is that if people are contributing, the limo might be covered. If the couple is contributing, they might pay for the limo. Not everyone's contributions are designated for certain items. My dad gave us X amount of money to spend. It was not designated for specific items. It was "for the costs of the wedding."
