  I would suggest something that has padded and adjustable straps and chest and waist straps. Sorry, can't help you on the "cute" factor. I would suggest going for something practical as you will be carrying heavy books and probably a laptop or a tablet. Obusform has some good ones, but you will be paying about $80 for them.

  I'm not good with cute. I'll recommend features:
  
  -padded section for laptop
  -small pocket for keys or other things that need to be easily accessible.
  -side pockets for water and/or umbrella
  -plenty of space for books
  -padded, adjustable straps

  I have this bag. While not particularly adorable, I can't say enough good things about it. I travel with it a ton- it is very light weight, bigger than it looks, and it fits nicely.

  With cheap backpacks, you need to worry about the straps and weight distribution, but nicer brands are more comfortable and better for your back.

  It's totally boring, but this is the one I have.  It has tons of pockets and even has pockets inside of pockets.  Everything has a home.  I get compliments on it at the hipster coffee shop where I get my coffee beans.  It also has a pretty low profile in that it holds a ton, but isn't huge.
