Cake Pulls for Grooms Men

I got the new New Orleans Weddings Magazine today and they had cake pulls for groomsmen in them. It wasn't the traditional cakepulls, it was keyring with binoculars (the looker), a girl in a glass (party animal), beer (the brewmaster), dice (the hi roller), and a motorcycle (easy rider). They were from string a bead and said they had over 2 dozen different kind.

Anyway, I thought that it would be something fun to do and have the whole wedding party up together. As anyone seen this done before? I never knew that this was something that was even done.  What do you guys think about it? I really liked the idea.

My FI and I are planning on doing this at our wedding in June.  String-a-bead was at one of the bridal shows we went to, and my FI loved the idea.  I don't know when your wedding is going to be, but I can let you know how it goes in early July.

    string-a-bead

    stringabead.com

Thats who I saw in the magazine and they looked really nice. They even have the BM pulls made as bracelets so they weren't just on strings and could be worn. And the GMs were keychains. They have their locations on their site.

We are using Royal Cakery for our bakery, and we got really fun NOLA inspired pulls, bourbon street sign, watermeter, streetcar, a little catherdal, mardi gras masks, and there were more to choose from. They were all really cute, and they give you what all the meanings were, and they weren't as traditional. I liked that, and you might too since it seems you are doing a DW in NOLA.

Good luck. I have also heard good things about string-a-bead, but haven't gone there myself.

I've got my cake pulls from string-a-bead and they are AMAZING!!!

I needed 10 pulls made into bracelets.  They said they would be ready the next week but when they heard us say we were from out of town they said they would have them done before we left the next day.  I was shocked when they called me less than 2 hours later to say they were complete. When we went back I made a comment about getting something for my junior bridesmaid (because i don't want my 11 year old sister pulling something like baby shoes) and they suggested getting a special charm for her and they could "mark" it so she would know which one to pull.  They made that one for us while we waited.  We ended up getting gifts for my bridal luncheon there, as well.  They have a great gift shop and are soooo nice and helpful.  I TOTALLY recommend checking them out!
