Lawn and Shoes

My ceremony venue is at a park. Where I live, water is pretty restricted right now because we're in a drought. So almost every lawn and grass is solid concrete. Including the venue because as a heritage park they're pretty forceful about not using water unless it's rain.

So the girls in WP are all wearing heels, and I know they make shoes guards and such for like $20 a pair (which is stupid for a tiny piece of plastic and I can't even find ONE BOX anywhere in the city I live in, and my wedding is in 2 weeks, even if I paid for next day shopping online It'll end up costing me like $150 for 5 pairs).

I read somewhere that rubber end caps (like the things you put on the bottom of metal tube legs on chairs, etc) work. Has anyone tried this? They're like $2-4 for a box of 4 (2 pairs of shoes). I scoured google and amazingly came across this but I'm just wondering if anyone has tried this or has an alternate (cheap) solution.

They might not even need the guards since, like i said, the ground is like concrete right now. And I'm playing around with the idea of wood platforms for them to stand on during the ceremony. But this is just a precaution in case the ground magically turns soft and green in the next 2 weeks. Thanks!
