How is your sunday?

Mine has been pretty productive.   I did a big shopping run.  First one in the 3 weeks as I've been emptying out my freezer and pantry.

I have a pulled pork in the crockpot right now.   Made salads in a jar for this week's lunch.  Made up some garlic bread to freeze for later use.   Vacuum sealed some proteins I bought in balk.   Did laundry, cleaned the house.    I feel like Suzy Homemaker today.

Now I'm waiting to go to work for a few hours.   So not really wanting to go, since I haven't had a full day off in over a month now.   Especially for only a few hours, but they asked for the help and I feel obligated.

Yesterday I worked.    Which kind-of sucked as we had the lighting siren go off twice.  Once for 45 minutes, then it was all clear. Then it started raining.  I was yelling at mother nature for not raining at the same time as the lighting.   Golfers are off the course for lighting.  Not for rain.  Then a 2nd time for about 30 minutes.

How was your weekend?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Re: How is your sunday?

  • Pulled pork sounds good. I have a recipe for it but I haven't made it yet. I am heating up chicken tenders. Not as good as pulled pork, salad and garlic bread..yum!

I have had a nice relaxing but hot weekend. I did manage to clean my apartment watch a season of Scandal, so it was very productive for me.

I should be at church but it's far and the traffic is bad. Instead, I am watching Clueless. With all the hype of the 20 years anniversary, it was only a matter of time before I watched it.
  • Really productive here. I got a lot of school stuff done.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I'm addicted to chicken tenders.   I've eaten why too many in my lifetime.   I do a ritz cracker-parasean cheese baked nugget that is pretty darn good.     Always a hit at parties.    I might have to make that soon.

  • I'm having a great day at the Woodstock Folk Festival. We got a BEAUTIFUL day for it.

Trying not to think about work tomorrow.
  • I helped f.i. cook today. We have flash flood warning and it's hot. I did start a wedding Playlist though.
  • We got tickets to Slide the City for today, so we got to ride down the 1000' slip and slide down one of the downtown hills.  It was so awesome, and I only took out 2 people!!  We then headed downtown for the Taste of our City festival.  Lots of restaurants and food trucks head out and sell 2 sampler sized menu items.  That was our early dinner.

  • Just got back from DC. Left home at 4am Saturday morning to take my brother's dog down to the new house. Did moving stuff then went to go see some of the monuments after 11.
I feel like an idiot confessing this, but when I saw the Lincoln memorial I was overwhelmed with emotion I wanted to cry. Didn't tho because my brother would have picked on me.
Touched the Washington monument and WW2 memorial. I forgot my shoes so I wore sandals and now have blisters on my feet pads. I was very disappointed that the lights to the White House were off. That's the one I was looking forward to the most.

Didn't get back to the house until 1 and then slept until about 830. Did a couple other moving things and then left at 1230 to come back home. Ready to sleep for a day but have to go to work tomorrow.

  • It's insanely hot and humid here. It's been in the 90s all day and the A/C isn't working today in anywhere but the bedroom. My day has been filled with studying, doing stats coursework, and picking out pictures to show the florist when I go next week.

  • It's finally hot here so we spent the afternoon chilling out in the house while the kids napped.

Yesterday we went to a local farm for their annual sunflower for wishes celebration. They plant a few acres of sunflowers and we went on a hay ride there, fed cows and bought a bouquet.

    Now I'm ready for bed!
  • I had a pretty busy but fun weekend. My dad came up so we took a weekend trip to Atlanta, went to Medieval Times (I love cheesy stuff like that), went to the aquarium, had several nice meals, and saw Cats at the performing arts center.

Then after we drove back home today, we met up and had dinner with a friend who was passing through town in the midst of moving. All in all, can't complain too much. :)

  • Home alone with my 2 furr babies. FI is working out of state. He hasn't been gone a week yet and will be gone for a month. Feeling down in the dumps. Worked on paperwork for work. Too hot outside to do anything. I'm a Debbie downer today.

  • We went to church, H did some training to help out at church, came home, did married people things ;), took a nap and are now trying to figure out what to do for the rest of the evening. Might watch a movie later.
  • Our weekend was good. We were both off, which doesn't happen very often. Went to get wings Friday night.

Saturday, we went to town to run a few errands. DH bought me some Oakley sunglasses which I was happy about because I never spend more than $10 on sunglasses for myself. We bought a baby boy and baby girl outfit for two of our friends because they didn't know the sex yet. IT'S a BOY! So excited for them! Now, I need to return the girl outfit.

I cleaned the house while DH mowed the yard. Then we had that couple over for supper and I made icecream.

Yesterday, we went to get groceries and relaxed most the day. It was one of the best weekends we had in a while. Except now I am PMSing and I hate feeling all emotions at once. HA!

  • We had such a busy weekend. Girls night on Friday. We ate pizza and went to the movies to see Magic Mike. Most of the girls liked it better than the first one, but I thought it was cheesier/less sexy than the first.

Then Saturday DH cleaned the house (have I mentioned how much I love that guy?!) while I went shopping with my mom. Saturday night DH and I went to watch Ant-Man. I LOVED it. So funny.

Sunday we went grocery shopping and then went fishing/shooting with DH's grandpa. Guess who nailed the bullseye! Awesome weekend.

  • My Sunday was spent doing invitations.  From about 10am to 7pm.  But they're done and those fuckers are going in the mail TODAY.  I'm so over them LOL!
