Anyone have any experience with Earth Limos or Bell Trans? Thank you!

Re: transportation

  • No, I used AWG and had good experiences with them, and I know folks who have used Bell Trans and like them as well.  Earth Limos had a lot of negative reviews about overbooking their fleet when I was looking, hopefully they've improved but I'd be wary of that.
  • I've booked Bell Trans for July 7th, so I can post up how the actual transports go. (I'm not sure how those wedding timelines work, so not sure when your wedding is!) We're using them for two of the 29-passenger buses to take guests to the ceremony location, as well as a limo for the bridal party. Then they'll come back and transport everyone from the ceremony to reception. And then a last pick-up from reception back to hotel. The prices were reasonable and I worked with Xena, who has been really great at getting everything set up and making changes as they came up. Crossing my fingers that everything goes well they day of and I'll share final thoughts, if you like.
  • I just did that with them and it worked out great! Driver had cell and kept us informed entire time on what was going on. It will work out great, i was very impressed with them. Showed up early too we were ahead of schedule getting there!
  • Haven't had time to do any reviews, yet, came home from the wedding and long story short, found out my boy cat has a huge lymphoma mass in his abdomen. Can only try to keep him comfortable and taking some calories in.

I was nervous about the transportation, as about two weeks pre-wedding, Bell Trans sent me the "final" manifest to double check...and they'd reverted to the first rendition, which was very different. Thought we got that all sorted out, but I should have checked again the day before. Basically, they called me as I was literally stepping into my dress, about an hour before the ceremony, and said my card was declined due to "too many transactions." Thankfully, I hadn't turned my phone off, yet, and was able to give them another card but the person calling got kinda snippy with me until I reminded him I was all nerves, as the guests were on their way to the shuttles as we spoke. Everything ended up going ok the rest of the day, but I still don't know how the card was declined - Chase says there is no indication of it having been declined (I had called on the way to make sure they knew I was out of town and would have a lot of sizable transactions. One thing for sure, they charged each vehicle/movement separately, resulting in seven transactions for the 3-day hold and seven more the day off for the balance. Oh...and it had me even more of a nervous wreck! Definitely not satisfied with the experience and would be hesitant to recommend, although the drivers themselves were fantastic.
  • Oh my goodness! I am so sorry! I appreciate the review. I'll show my fiance as bell trans is his first thought, while I would go with earth limos.

  • My DOC recommended Bell Trans, so I went with them... hoping it works out. Honestly I was a little scared to book any transit company reading reviews -- it seems like all of them have 75% perfect reviews and 25% nightmare reviews... :/
  • Well, I hate to change anyone's mind and I should have said that I could have done more in advance to insure payment and such went well. I made some pretty drastic changes to the initial plan, so it probably would help to not schedule anything out until sure how you want to do it. I also intended to just hire the vehicles at the hourly rate and just keep them "on the clock" through the ceremony and reception. The agent I worked with convinced me to do the separate movements to and from each location, which overly complicated things, I think. We had two 29-passenger buses for the guests and groom's party from hotel to ceremony, as well as a limo fro bridal party. Then the two buses for everyone from ceremony to reception and finally, fr4om reception back to hotel. If I could "do over," I'd ask them to make it one total charge and last, I'd call the day before and go through everything again, as well as payment! It was a whirlwind, though, and there just never seemed to be enough time.

damnthetorpedoes, since you have a DOC, make sure that person is insuring everything is on track...I definitely should have had one and would recommend that to anyone else.
