Eloping in Vegas in June!

Hi All -

Newbie here, but these boards are so informative! I thought I would share our plans with you all to get some advice/tips/recommendations.

My fiance and I had booked a trip to Vegas 2 months ago, we are engaged, but really don't have the money for a huge wedding right now and then it popped in our minds, why not do it in Vegas? Vegas was our first real vacation together and we have been back since, and it's just "our place".  We both have been married before, I have an 11 year old daughter and he has a 9 year old son and a 13 year old son.  We plan to do a small ceremony with the kids while we are in Jamaica at the end of July, so having just a ceremony for just the two of us in Vegas is perfect.

My/Our thoughts so far.... Monday, June 15, 2015 is the day!

Would like an evening ceremony.... I do need advice on a timeline, do you think we will fit in the ceremony, photo strip tour and dinner all in one evening?

Wedding Wagon - haven't decided on location yet, but I love the Bellagio fountains, any other recommendations?

Photo Strip Tour - Bently and Wilson

Limo -  Presidential

Dinner - Top of the World

Pre-Wedding Hair/Makeup - need recommendations, so far I have found GlamSquad, Harmony Tapia, Beautiy by Bri, Makeup in the 702 and Stevee Danielle.  I won't be doing a test run, so $150 for hair/makeup is the budget I am looking for

Fiance Hair - Well, he shaves his head and reading these forums, I would love for him to go to the Art of Shaving and get the works done!

Tux - need recommendations for this, again within about $150 budget, is that possible?

Dress - More then likely, I will get something local in Raleigh, I want a more simple long dress but also elegant.

Ahhh, we are so excited, but want to book everything ASAP, so all tips, help and recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I think this sounds like a great plan. I hadBbeauty by Bri and she was amazing!! I would say if you want a night ceremony, do the strip tour before. Art of Shaving is awesome and a great choice for men.

I second HM's comment about doing the strip tour before. Night shots are really hard to get right, so do your strip tour early, get all the great shots, and then have your ceremony among the city lights!

I didn't really think about that, but you are both right! We will book the photo strip tour before. I have a feeling we will be so ready to celebrate after the ceremony, doing photos before is best!  Thanks so much for the suggestion!

We just eloped in Vegas on April 22 so I can offer some help.

For make up, look no further than Beauty by Bri. She was so sweet and worked with me to achieve the look I wanted. She will recommend a trial run but it's ultimately up to you so just say no if you don't want it. It was $165 for the make up plus tip.

For tux, we went to Bowties Tuxedo and worked with Jason. He replies to emails quickly and set aside tuxes for my fiancé to ensure we had style to try on in his size. It's a bit out there so you would need to get a cab out there unless you are renting a car, then you're set. it came to $160 something after tax.

We had our wedding dinner at Top of the World and our server was fantastic. We had Rocky as our server. He was super attentive and made our dining experience memorable. Just be warned that you're going to get a lot of stares in your wedding attire when you're making your way through the casino at Stratosphere. If you go to another casino (e.g. Aria - you will be greeted by so many happy people). The menu is up to you. The tasting menu is $90 and it comes with four courses - well worth it to try a bunch of different dishes.

I got my dress locally and transported it via a carry-on garment bag. I didn't want to lose sight of my dress and thankfully the material didn't wrinkle.

    Hope this helps :)

After being together for over 11 years and being engaged for over 3 years, we finally got hitched!

Thank you MinBride29!   We finally (I think) have everything booked, with 47 days to go!  I booked with Beauty by Bri and she has been nothing but fabulous!  She did ask about a trial run, but we literally don't get into Vegas until 8:50pm the night before our wedding, so I don't really have time for a trial run.  She is great about sending me images of suggestions thought and welcoming any images I have found.

We are using the Wedding Wagon and booked the photo tour for after....I am glad I found out they do the photo tour, I was going to book Bently and Wilson but with the short notice and lots of stress, when I found out that Wedding Wagon did the photo tour and read the reviews, I loved that I could book just them and have that checked off my list.

Wedding dinner is at Top of the World, made reservations- thanks for the tip on getting stares, I guess I though this is Vegas, everyone gets married in Vegas, why would I be stared at but then again, it's Vegas and there are so many different walks of life there!   Should we tell them it is our wedding dinner? Did you do the tasting menu? That is something we haven't decided on yet.

I finally got my wedding dress this past weekend and absolutely love it.  I had planned on taking it on the plane with me so glad to hear that worked out for you.  Fiance is renting a tux in Vegas, from Tuxedo Junction I think? He got measured at the bridal store and send them his measurements, they drop off and pick up his tux from our hotel.  One less thing to worry about!

Otherwise - I was thinking about a mini wedding cake, like really small, since it's just the two of us, does anyone have any recommendations?

We ordered our wedding bands this week, another check off the list! Those will be coming with us on the plane!

Still have to fill out the pre-paperwork online for our marriage certificate, but after that I think we are good to go!

Phew! I'm so excited and glad the planning/booking phase is over though!

How Exciting!  We've had dinner at Top of the World twice.  Love the whole experience.  What time did you book dinner for?  You may want to check to see what time sunset is and see if it coordinates with your dinner time.  Nothing better than watching the lights come on all around the valley as you have dinner.

@nmk1125 yay! Sounds like everything is coming together.
For the dinner, we ordered the Tasting Menu. It was perfect. Only problem, my stomach shrunk from not eating all day so I had to take most of my third course to go. Otherwise, the food was delicious! I don't think it makes any difference whether you tell them it's your wedding dinner or not. We got great service but I think it's to be expected.
I think Stratosphere is a little bit isolated, hence you get a lot of stares from people in the Casino. The people in the restaurant are super cheerful. Depends on where you go.

And absolutely do the prepaperwork before you get to the Marriage License office. The line up was unbelievable for the people who didn't do it. We were in and out in 10 mins or less.

@mspenn, we booked dinner late, 10:30pm, as we are getting married between 7-8 and then a photo strip tour after so we will miss the sunset :(

I think everything is done except for alterations to my dress, ordering the little "I do" and "Me Too" stickers for the bottom of our shoes.....fiance bought me baby blue Christian Louboutin's!!!!!!!!

His tux is getting delivered Friday, we don't get in until Sunday but they are holding it for him.

Any other suggestions/hints/tips/tricks? We may get a massage Monday morning, anyone know of a great place to go near Bally's?

@MinBride29, I think we might do the tasting menu, I guess I should eat sometime that day so I can eat my dinner, it will be very late though, 10:30pm!  We did the pre-paperwork finally, so I feel like we actually are almost done with everything!

I am new to this website, and I could sure  definitely get an advise from someone that has already  eloped to vegas. I am looking to have a daytime wedding outdoor. Our budget is very limited, my dress will be local in fort lauderdale, florida.
