Update! :)

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a sort of exciting update. BF and I went and purchased my wedding band and his ring this weekend, and also sent my ring in to be re-sized. Turns out he doesn't consider it "being engaged" without a proposal. But he still wants to get everything planned. Just some miscommunication with terminology I guess, ha. So still waiting for the technical proposal but I think it's pretty fair to say that we're engaged. My parents know the date and so do a few close friends. We have people constantly assuming we are married, happened twice this weekend, and our response is "soon enough", because he wants to officially tell his parents before word gets too far spread.

As far as our relationship goes, I thought we couldn't get any closer or more honest with each other and then BAM we did, haha. So things are good :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I'm confused.....he doesn't consider you guys engaged but you have a date, are buying wedding bands (!!!!), and you even say you are engaged. Do you see how this makes zero sense?
You both have to agree that you either are or are not engaged. You can be engaged without a proposal or without a ring....but you can't be engaged if your partner doesn't think you are engaged. End of story. And if you aren't engaged you shouldn't be planning a wedding, have a date set, etc.

You say your relationship is going well but if your BF said he doesn't consider you guys to be engaged yet you're on here telling us it's fair to say you are engaged, that doesn't really jive.

I never said they were resolved, just that the communication about them has opened up.

Everyone knows it only takes 10 days to stop feeling like an afterthought in your relationship.

Knottie#s... I'm glad you're feeling better about things, but we hardly know you, so you don't really need to update us on every thing that happens in your relationship.

This is just so.....weird. I don't get it. He says you're not engaged, but you bought wedding bands.

I'm sorry, but I feel like you're rushing into a marriage without actually dealing with major issues beforehand. And I feel like it's because of your religion. And as someone who's been through a divorce, you should know better.

It doesn't really seem like you solved anything? You don't just all of a sudden have everything fixed unless you consider sweeping things under the rug as fixed. I feel like before you make any more steps towards planning a wedding, you guys should really start working on communication. I suggest seeing a couple's therapist. It's always great to see one especially to help open lines of communication.
