Any Olde Mill Inn brides out there?

Hi ladies,

After a month of being engaged, I think we're ready to book our venue! I visited the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ yesterday with my mom and we fell in love. My fiancé and are going back tomorrow, so he can have a tour. Anyone have feedback to provide? Any info on your experience with them, the food, etc. would be MUCH appreciated! This is SO exciting, but also nerve-wracking. We want to make sure we make the right decision! We're looking to book for May 2015, because we want to get married ASAP. I'd also appreciate feedback on NJ weather in May! Thanks in advance!!

    We just had our wedding at the Olde Mill Inn and Gain House on Sunday!  We had a small wedding of 35 guests. It was held in the Hunt Room, which is in the Grain House's downstairs area.  We  did a lot of on line research and visited 3 different venues, but knew this was the one from the first look around.  We worked with Amanda and she was great, very attentive to details, quick to respond to emails and questions, and personable.  The food was good and I did not hear one complaint about serving size, taste or quality.   We got our cake through their preferred vendor, Palermo's, and it did not disappoint!  We had a Sunday afternoon wedding, so I also stayed in the hotel with some family and friends the night prior.  My husband and I stayed over on Sunday night too.  There was a wedding going on Saturday night, so most of us didn't get a great night's sleep on Saturday night...a lot of room doors slamming  shut till the wee hours and some loud music.  I don't know that I would have slept anyway, but it wasn't ideal for my family and friends.  That was the only thing negative I have to say!  It was a nice and quiet stay on Sunday night for Ben and I.  They also moved us to the bridal suite on Sunday night since it was free, as we only had paid and booked a regular size room.  We had a dream wedding there!  I hope you find your spot too!

    Best wishes for you on May 8th!  

    I don't know if you need recommendations but I used Laura Clare for the flowers in neighboring Bernardsville...she is wonderful and so are her arrangements.  I used My Cinderella's Dream for hair and makeup...they were also very easy to work with and priced fairly. We used Laura Stiles for photography.  She was wonderful to work with, but we haven't seen the pictures yet to comment on how they came out!

    I wanted to look at the Olde Mill Inn as I used to live nearby, but my fiancé was already set on one of the other places we visited. I like how the hotel, bar, and reception are all in one place. I contacted them about booking rooms for our wedding, but they reserve them for their weddings, so that will be to your advantage if you book there.
