Wedding Woes

The end is nigh...

The end of the week, that is.

I saw some of the meteor shower last night.  It was so cool.

Having to go to the office yesterday was exhausting because I'm terrible with routine changes.

I may drink an entire pot of coffee just to stay awake this morning.

What's up with you?

Re: The end is nigh...

  • DH has been helping our friend replace his carpeted living room/hallway/stairs with wood floors this week so hopefully he'll stay home tonight and we can watch a movie or something.

I'm going to get some cleaning done and then take the girls to a park.  I also need to go to the store for the peppers for tonight's fajitas.

Running errands this morning- Lakeshore Learning (6let's got some writing issues), Old Navy returns (I forgot how tall 6let is), and Costco (6let EATS)

I'd like to make a run into Bed Bath and Beyond but that's pushing it.  I've gotten good at making a whole wheat bread, but I need to get some sort of bread Rubbermaid container or something reusable to store it in.

What time did you go outside?  I've been wanting to catch them with Wooz, but Phil Plait said after midnight was best.  Which means going to sleep and then getting up in the middle of the night for both of us, which explains why it hasn't happened yet.  I would keep her up late on Friday since neither of us are getting up early, but I'm afraid we'll have missed the best nights by then.  If earlier works, I'm in tonight.

Count me in for the gallon of coffee club today.

I'm considering taking next Thursday off.  I already have Friday off because we're leaving for the beach for one last hurrah before school starts.  Next week is the last week of daytime hours at our local amusement park, and Wooz still has a season pass from summer camp.  I was going to have to leave early anyway because DS has his open house that afternoon and DD has her meet-the-teacher thing at school.  So I was toying with taking a half day, and now I'm leaning toward taking the whole thing, dropping DS at DC, and riding all the rides with Wooz before the two school events.  We'll wave to DH's office from the top of the roller coaster hill.

@6fsn, I love Lakeshore Learning.  Some of their stuff is expensive, but it's so cool.

ETA:  I just checked their hours next Thursday, and that's one of the days season pass holders can bring a friend for $30.  That is crazy cheap.  I think we're doing it.
  • @heffalump, I was outside at 11:30 or so.  Just saw a couple, but it was so neat.  I hope there's more tonight.  They said it could continue for the next couple nights.
  • We went to a star gazing event last night.  We left at 11 and had seen a handful.  But there were people there nearly all night and it really did seem to pick up around midnight, if my FB posts are any measure.

My BFF is on his way!!  I'm working a half day and then we're going galvanting around town, eating and drinking and talking our faces off!  I'm so excited; I don't think I've spent an extended amount of time with him since the renewal which was 7 years ago!

I'm burning the candle at both ends right now.  And I'm finally giving up and admitting that I basically like being so damn busy that I meet myself coming and going and that I like going to stuff with lots of people b/c it recharges my jets.  Extrovert FTW!  So, I'm trying to not complain anymore and just relishing my busy-ness.

@Heffalump- it's pricey but it's a good place for ideas.  They have so many good learning tools and usually some sort of coupon.  I've been eyeing a cash register for Max's Christmas and they had it for $25.  I also like the teacher supplies for party decorations.

I also figure we've gotten a lot of free stuff on Saturday craft days.  I love those.

  • I'm one pot in. I switched to water but I can still smell coffee in the air tempting me to brew another.

I forgot about the meteor shower last night. I was too busy prepping meals for FI for the couple of days I will be gone. He's on a diet and falls off the wagon as soon as I'm out the door unless he has tasty diet food readily available.
  • Morning/afternoon. I am dragging- between a good 8-10 hours at work, regular kid stuff, and then the moving/packing on top I am exhausted. It is painful waking up in the morning. I had my mid-year review and I'm meeting/exceeding expectations so that's nice. The new house is gorgeous and I can't wait to be done moving so we can just enjoy it. The previous owners live nearby and are really nice, they've offered to come fix a few things in the next couple of weeks that are minor problems (that we could do but just aren't priority). DS loves Kindergarten and I'm thrilled. I was really worried he'd hate it, as he can be resistant to change. DD is definitely missing him at daycare, which is sweet.

Basically, I can't wait till Sunday. Our realtor sent a bottle of champagne and I plan to pop that bottle and relax in my jetted bathtub.

I love the Persieds becaue they're a laid back meteor shower.
I mean, you can make it work...or you can go out on the deck when it's dark, hang for a few, and see if you see anything.  And if you don't make it on day 1, tryon day 3, there will still be some.  maybe
(I saw nothing because I went to bed to early)

I think some of Buffy's PITA-ness recently is pre-kindy stress.
I'd alleviae it by telling her what the day is like if they'd EFFING TELL ME STUFF.  I still don't nkow full/half day.
