  Have you asked each BM what price point they can afford? Renting a dress is throwing money down the drain. If you can get past the concept of "Stepford Wife" matching BM's, why don't you just select a color, length, and possibly a fabric, and just let each friend find their own dress? They would at least have something to show for their money, and a chance to wear the dress again. Places like Rent the Runway still offer rental dresses at price points higher than dresses I can purchase outright at department stores. ETA......Because your wedding is not until next February, your friends stand a very good chance of finding some outstanding dresses on sale during holiday clearance sales.

  I suggest looking at department stores. My girls got their dresses at Macy's for $60. I found the same dress in a different color at Ross for $20. There are all kinds of places to get inexpensive, nice dresses. They don't have to be formalwear or labeled as bridesmaid dresses.

  My flower girl got her dress at Macy's.  Also, I believe Target has a rather inexpensive line of bridesmaid dresses as well.

  When I was looking into renting bridesmaid dresses it looked like their prices weren't much cheaper than buying a dress at like david's bridal. The reason is they are usually designer dresses and therefore much more expensive to begin with. Personally I'd be a little upset if I was asked to rent a dress when I could actually own one for close to the same price, plus there'd be the hassle of returning it.

  I would make sure that you are asking your BMs privately what their budget is for the dress, instead of just assuming a price range. That way you know for sure what your BMs can afford and can move forward from there (PPs have already given great options).

  I guarantee your BMs will love you forever if you tell them they can wear any dress of a particular color and length. Or find matching dresses that cost less because they aren't labeled as BM dresses.

  If you are looking to have your girls rent their dresses, I would try Renttherunway.com.

  They send the girls 2 sizes so that to make sure they get a well fitting dress. The dresses run as little as $35

  I don't really recommend renting, just because I think renting basically anything is a waste of money. My bridesmaids dresses came from Kohls. They aren't necessarily "typical" bridesmaids dresses, but they are very pretty and still dressy enough for the occasion. They only cost $40 a piece.
