Do any of you watch Four Weddings? I watch mainly for entertainment (and possibly I'll get some inspiration or an idea), but I usually end up getting really irritated at one of the brides, and hoping that she will lose the competition.

They are so critical of each other. I honestly would hate someone showing up at my wedding, and judging every little thing I did. It's not like I can do it again, and take their feedback to heart.

"There could have been more decorations in the ceremony space, so I am taking points away". When in reality, there were flowers on every pew, huge flower decorations in front, an aisle runner, flower petals, candles, etc. What more are you looking for!!?

"She had pink BM's dresses, and usually I like pink, but not the shade she chose, so I am taking away points". Ummmm...

"Her centerpieces were not elaborate enough / or too elaborate". Whatever...

"I'm taking points away because there was too much food at cocktail hour, and I was full by the time dinner came". Maybe you should have not eaten so much at cocktail hour....

I can go on and on...and yet for some reason I still watch this show.

I watch it every now and then, for entertainment. We were watching one and one of the brides was insulting everyone else's centerpieces. Like who really cares about centerpieces. Finally when they got to her wedding, she was the last one, we were like after all that, her centerpieces were like meh.

Also, I hate the people who are clearly scores the others low just so they have a better shot at winning.

I agree 100%. I watch the show, but the "I don't like seashells so I deducted points" irritates me.

I used to watch Four Weddings quite a lot and out of all the episodes I've ever seen there wa sonly 1 woman who was genuinely positive and scored higher points (nothing below an 8 for Overall) because she made sure she had a good time and was open to everything.

I still watch it for entertainment...I like to see how crazy people get with their weddings.

I just watched the other day and the woman with the most boring wedding (literally- they were bored because the DJ sucked) is the one who won! She had a nice venue, dress, and food, and the scores bumped her highest after overall experience.

I almost never see overall score more than 6 or 7. One time, and one time only, someone gave another bride a 9 and said the wedding was awesome.

The whole point of the show is to pick a part each others wedding. They are out to win a honeymoon so of course they are going to deduct points for dumb crap and be super critical.

I used to watch it but got so irritated with the obvious ploys to score low so they could win. I was always half expecting a bride to say "Well its not my wedding, and not what I would want, so I deducted points"

I watched it once and didn't like it, I like random trashy bravo/TLC type shows but for some reason I didn't care for it - maybe because I watched it before I was engaged so wedding planning wasn't on my mind.

my mom has watched it and I laughed because she kept saying how our wedding venue and set up were better than what she sees on there. Oh the love through a mother's eyes

Yup! I know it's such a stupid show and they deduct and complain about the dumbest things, yet I still watch and love it. My favorite gripe recently was "the lobster wasn't served with drawn butter".

I'll watch it if it's on and there's nothing else on. The main thing I noticed is how much some people spend on their weddings, with little to show for it in terms of the actual weddings. Makes me wonder where the money went... (the only time I don't question this is when they're NYC weddings).

I also find it annoying when one spends $75k and is being compared to someone spending $30k in the same locale.

I loved the one where the one couple spent like 100K + on this hideous gawdy gothic style wedding and they came in last. That broad was pisssssssssssssed.

I was watching it once when it first came out in like, 2009 and they got to the part where they were judging the dresses and one girl was like "I'm giving her a 3/10 because she looks like a stuffed sausage in that mermaid dress." And all I could think of was like... holy eff. What if someone thinks I l look like a stuffed sausage in my dress?!

Yikes! Can you imagine being all excited to sit down with your friends and family to watch it air and then that comes on...I'd cry so hard.

I love it. They all know what they are signing up for. And in the end while the other brides talk about the details, what actually winds up loosing is not enough chairs, not enough food/bad food, and too hot or cold.

That is so harsh!! The brides are definitely very critical, but that comment is a low blow.

I know they are signing up for the show, and expecting to be judged, but I just feel their expectations are wayyyy beyond normal expectations. But yet for whatever reason, I just keep watching. Karma usually works itself out on the show though. Hopefully the woman who made the stuffed sausage comment came in last, and the bride in the mermaid dress came in first place.

What I find funny is the fact that they tear each's weddings apart and then, when they are waiting for the winning groom to show up, they all talk about how they are now great friends for life. Bitch, please.

I also once saw one where a bride complained at another bride's wedding that there was too much food. I'm sorry, but unless you're a goldfish you're capable of limiting yourself, so it's your job not to eat yourself to death. Shut up.

Haha. I saw this one!!! I keep kosher (no pork or shellfish), so I personally wouldn't have enjoyed this, but the women on the show were raving about it!! It's rare to get so many compliments about something on Four Weddings, so I agree this was a winner. And I've never heard of a bacon bar before, so she had a unique idea.

I agree!! I think it's funny that if you are trying to not spend a million dollars on your wedding, the places where your friends recommend you cut corners are all the things these stupid girls complain about. My guess? part of the reason is because they didn't shell out for their own weddings so have no idea how to plan or the value of money and also for the drama...I am sure the producers encourage a certain level of pettiness

I would never, ever, EVER complain about too much food.

I also love when someone has a mashed potato bar and all of the brides forget to be catty for a second because "ZOMG MASHED POTATO BAR".

I saw an episode where one bride gave another bride a 10 for overall experience. I can't remember which episode it was, but it really was a kickass wedding, and she deserved that 10.

Typically uttered when there are no flowers or an nontraditional venue or the couple chose to forgo several traditions like first dances or cake-cutting.

I happen to love non-wedding-y weddings!

One thing that made me laugh so hard was when a picky-eater bride complained about "peanut butter on chicken." Another bride snarked, "Has she seriously never had Thai food!?!?"

I'm trying to remember exactly what she said...but some girl was upset about venison being served during cocktail hour (clearly marked so Bambi lovers would know)...I she deducted points because "I don't think you should eat those types of animals".

Is it sad that I know the exact episode you are talking about? The peanut butter chicken was served during the cocktail hour, and looked pretty good imho.

I also find it interesting that a lot of the weddings on the show have themes. And then the brides complain that the theme wasn't carried through as much of the wedding as it could of been (even though I usually see the theme everywhere). One of the themed weddings that immediately comes to mind is The Damask Attack. There was Damask everywhere: tablecloths, cake, etc. One of the brides commented that she didn't really see the Damask design and the wedding was "b-l-a-n, blan" I found that moment instant karma.
