Soda, water etc question

Wedding is in November. Can I start to buy the mixers, like water, soda, juices now? I wanted to get ahead and catch things on sale. What do y'all think?

Re: Soda, water etc question

  • Hey, I'm sure the other women on here will correct me if I'm wrong, but my wedding is also in November. I'm not buying beverages (we are serving them at our welcome dinner) until a week prior. Edible favors are being made and delivered 48 hours prior.

I think buying anything this far out is a little too early, but that could just be me.

Regardless on when you purchase, I would check the expiration dates.

    Hope this helps!!

  • @Pupatella I think we have the same date!

  • ;) 11/14? I hope the weather is beautiful as I would prefer to not use my back up plan. Just my ceremony is outside. Fingers crossed!!!!!

  • @Pupatella yes mine is 11/14 too!

  • There is no reason why you can't buy them now, even non-refrigerated ones  Just look at expiration dates.  Diet Cokes, for example, will expire quicker then regular coke.         As long as you have the room (store in a dry place that does not have extreme temperatures) you should be good.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • With the end of summer/labor day coming up, I'm sure there are some good sales out there.

  • You're good to start buying now

  • water/soda are probably going to be on sale for Labor Day weekend so I'd look to buy then.  Juice just look at the expiration date but it doesn't go on sale the same as water/soda so probably ok to buy it closer to the wedding.

And won't sneak into them when you "really want some" before the wedding and have to buy more later anyway. :)
  • @YogaSandy that's not fun!! Lol

I do not drink sodas or juices really (every now and then I will have a sprite, but that is about it.). So that will be safe for in my home.

Now if you are talking about beer?  Specifically if I was able to get Yuengling out here?  Yeah, that would not be safe AT ALL!

  • Everything @lyndausvi said. We started buying about 6 weeks in advance. We just checked expiration dates and also confirmed return policies-- we were able to return a bunch of extra mixers and booze but needed to keep it within 30 days for a few places
