Need creative ideas for guestbook

We don't want to do a guest book because many guests really never sign it and I would hate to spend money on something it will barely get used. I would like something different for our guestbook...like using an old guitar and have guests sign on it. Any thoughts?

Re: Need creative ideas for guestbook

  • They have plates that you can have the guests sign and then you glaze them, put them in the oven and cure them, making the signatures permanant. They are pretty nice.

My sister had an iPad at hers with pictures of her and my BIL in a slideshow... when you tapped the screen it brought up an app that you can write a message and then saved it as an image. it was pretty cool.
  • i used a photobooth - each printout came with 2 strips - one for guest book one for guests to keep. (i also got a cd with all images).

one of my friends used a guitar and they have in on display in the house.

my cousin used her favorite cookbook. that way every time she uses it she can read a note from a wedding guest.

another cool thing might be a stretched canvas on an easel.

if its something unique and personal i think it should be something special or significant to the couple. it would have more meaning.

You know how you can get those signing mats for around a photo? They have come up with one that is a metal mat that comes with an engraving pen for your guests to sign with. If we didn't have so many people invited I thought that would be super cute, and its different from a traditional signing mat. I love the guitar or plate idea too, maybe you could find a big platter and prepaint your monogram in the middle then everyone can sign around it and it will become a family treasure. For my bridal shower, we're having all the guests sign fabric squares and then my aunt will sew them into a pillow for me, maybe you could do something similar? Just use one piece of fabric, have a heart (or whatever symbol means the most to you) pre-sewn in the center of the square/rectangle with you names and wedding date on it and have your guests sign that with a fabric marker in your wedding color(s). (We're doing the squares cuz my shower will be a partial ghost shower because of my out-of-town family that can't do the double trip thing.)
  • A thumbprint tree?
  • A blank scrapbook with the note asking guests to write their favorite memory with/of you guys.

  • I totally forgot! Look at guestbookstore.com! I got one from there.
  • What I am doing is a jigsaw puzzle of one of our e-pics.  the guests sign on the back and the front would be our picture.  And have it framed with double side plexiglass so both the image and the signatures can be shown.  This way, we can really use this piece at any place we live in be apt or house.

  • Memory or wishing tree
  • I did a FUNNY picture of me and my fiance.  We blew it up and had everyone sign it.  The best part is  that the wedding was the FIRST time anyone, including family members saw the picture.  Definitely left for some HYSTERICAL notes!

Hope that link works bc I can never figure out how to do the pic thing! haha

  • We had small cards in different sizes and colors set out with a bunch of pens and a few prompts: fav memory of the couple, marriage advice, bedroom advice, ect. I plan to put it all together in a scrap book w/ pics and stuff...thats the plan. Hopefully I'll get my creative juices flowing but the idea would be to have pics that kind of go along with what people said next their notes.
  • Oh wow, so many ideas!!! Thanks so much ladies, you've been wonderful!
