ANNULMENT CONFIRMED IN SECOND INSTANCE!!!

I was almost scared to do it, but I called the second tribunal today to check on the status of my annulment, and they told me it was ratified, they just hadn't had a chance to get the paperwork back to Indianapolis yet.

So we are good to go, for real and for certain! I am so excited and so relieved...

    Thank you, so much, everyone! I so appreciate your support through all of this...I honestly didn't know if it was ever going to end. So those of you who are in the middle or the start of the process, take heart. It does get done, and honestly, the people I worked with could not have been nicer or more understanding.

    It's kind of interesting...I have been trying to decide whether or not to call them for several days, because I started worrying that they hadn't received the materials, it had gotten stalled, there was something wrong, etc., etc., etc. But while I was driving in this morning, I was listening to the Daily Mass on EWTN Radio, and the scriptures were about the Israelites grumbling about conditions in the desert. In his homily, the priest talked about how they began to question God's promise, and how they sent a dozen scouts to check out the Promised Land. And ten of them came back and said, "Man, that place is dangerous...there are giants there!" And the priest talked about how the people didn't trust the fact that no matter what, God had PROMISED that this land would be theirs. They didn't trust God's promise.

    So I thought, well, it was time I just plain trusted God on this, and I made the call...and when I got the answer I said one heartfelt prayer!! It so often amazes me what happens when I actually listen. Smile

    Congrats! I know it's a huge relief to just be done with it.  We are a year into my FI app and we have only been approved by the diocese.  It now moves on to the second.  Seems to be taking forever.  Sometimes, I freak out, scared that they will deny it at the last minute and I'll have to basically start from scratch with the ceremony.  But, my FI is so cool and collected, he always brings me back to earth. Again, congrats to you and good luck with your dream wedding.

    Thanks, LisaRene...if it helps any, mine took about a year in the first instance, but the second instance was much faster - about 2 1/2 months. I had all the same fears you had, even though we were pretty certain mine would be affirmed. Hang in there! You will have your dream wedding too!
