Wedding contract

Hi all, I am planning on getting married at the Forever Grand chapel in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on 24th August 2016. They have just emailed me my contract. I was wondering what I had to look out for or be careful about? I have specified what I would and wouldn't like in emails (does this also count as in writing?). For example, the package includes a tuxedo; my fiancé doesn't want it, he's wearing his own suit. The coordinator has told me in email that instead I can have $100 towards chapel decor, but this isn't written in the contract, just through email. What I am planning to do is print off the contract, write any amendments on it, then scan it and email it back to her so she can write me up an amended contract, which I will then sign. Is this ok? If not, what should I do?

Re: Wedding contract

  • As long as you don't sign it, you don't have to print it or anything. You can just email her back an itemized list of changes you would like reflected in the contract. Add in the emails for reference (ie, "As per your email on 9/15/15, you will not be providing a tuxedo, and we will be credited $100 toward decorations."). She'll send you a rewritten one that you can print out and all.

Also, make sure you understand what all the fees are ahead of time. Do they have a "Service Fee"? If they do, make sure that's clearly defined. Is it gratuity, or will you pay gratuity on top of that? It's different at different venues.
