Make me stop

I should just go to bed instead, but self-diagnosing on Google is much more terrifying.  I noticed a mole this morning that looks like it has a blood blister on it.  I probably scratched it and didn't notice at some point, irritating it.  I called my Derm immediately, but they're closed till Monday, so I'll call for an appointment then.  But googling (my mistake, I know) brought up nodular melanoma, a rarer form which of course spreads much quicker than regular melanoma.  I've already had a basal cell carcinoma removed from a close location that I had for years due to a bad diagnosis from a different Doctor, so I'm starting to freak myself out a little here.

Anyway, no point here, just needed to get it out before bed so I don't keep freaking myself out.  Monday I'll get an appt., and he'll take it off for a just in case biopsy and everything will turn out normal anyway.  Always happens on weekends, right??  Never in the middle of the week when everyone is open

Re: Make me stop

  • Good on you for noticing this mole, but don't panic!  You'll get the dermatologist to check you out, but remember it's probably nothing.

Are you doing anything fun this weekend?

  • Vibes that it's not serious!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • @OwlNurse, Yeah, more homework.  Ugh.  We're going for brunch with a good friend who is on maternity leave though, so it'll be awesome to see her again.  I miss having her at work.

    Thanks @AddieCake.

  • Good for you for being diligent but stay away from Web MD - it'll turn a head cold into a brain tumor!

I hope you enjoyed your brunch and good luck tomorrow!  There's nothing you can do today that can't wait until tomorrow anyways.

Google is the devil!  I dread when my daughter calls and the first words out of her mouth are, "So, I googled this, and........"  Enjoy brunch and think good thoughts!

  • Dutch style pancakes at a new place (well, it's old, but we've never been)
