It seems the in thing is to have everyone walk down the aisle to different songs -- one song for the groomsmen, a different one for the maids, and yet a different one for the bride.

Anyone planning to have just one song for the entire wedding party and the bride and groom?

    The bolded sounds like an awful lot and I've never seen that. It takes what, 20 seconds to walk down the aisle? So they play 20 seconds of several different songs? That seems weird. Most weddings I have been to had one song for everyone else, a different one for the bride and one song for the processional.

    I've never seen different songs like that.  If there's a seating of mothers & grandmothers and there's a long aisle, I've seen a separate song for that.

    For our wedding, we had one song for H's parents and the bridal party (both my parents escorted me) and one song for me & my parents.

    Some of the posters here on this forum have indicated that they have/are having different songs for the girls versus the guys in the wedding party. Then I assume they have a separate one for themselves since those posts are about the wedding party. This is why I'm asking. At the weddings I've attended, it's always just been one song for everyone.

    I think I know what post you're referring to and I thought that was odd too.  I'm going to have one song for the whole shebang.

    I'm using just one song for everyone, including me. "November Rain" instrumental version (not the whole song, of course).

    If you're having a religious ceremony, they'll help you decide how many songs to have. We're have 2 processional songs, and 1 recessional song because we're just having a (Catholic) ceremony.

    I was a church organist for 27 years.  In most church ceremonies, the groomsmen to not process down the aisle at all.  They gather in the waiting room with the groom, and walk out from the side door to stand at the altar and wait for the bridal.  No special music in necessary for them.  The organist knows to get ready for the processional music when she sees them walk out.
    You can have two separate pieces for the bridal party if you really want to, or you can just have the volume turned up when it is time for the bride to enter.  I played a 100 year old pipe organ in my last job, and when I hit the button, it really blasted that bridal chorus!  If you are using canned music this is more difficult.
    One reason that the Canon in D is so popular for weddings is that it can be as short or as long as required.  It can go for ten minutes, or just one round, though that was not Pachelbel's intention.  It is not religious music, but it is used in both secular and religious weddings.  Very practical.
    To address @missa011's comment, Catholic weddings have very strict rules about what music may be used.

    I had just one song.  The guys were already waiting up front (honestly, I have no clue when they entered or what that process was... we didn't do a rehearsal and the wedding coordinator ran through it with everyone while I was getting ready, since I only needed to know my part). Then we used one song (piano instrumental of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica) for all BM's & me.  I don't think it even got louder or any change in it at all when I walked in. But, everyone knew that I'd come in after the flower girl, so it wasn't a big surprise that needed an announcement.

    We only had one song.  The groom & groomsmen were already in the venue, waiting when the guests began to arrive.  My bridesmaids and I walked down the aisle to something quite traditional and classic. It was Canon in D (also known as Pachelbel's Canon).
