NWR: Birthday Drag Queen Bingo

I'm counting the minutes until I'm off work. Tomorrow is my birthday so I'm celebrating tonight by going to Drag Queen Bingo. One of my dearest friends is one of the Queens and I always have a blast when we party together. It's been a rather shitty week so I've been looking forward to this as a great way to turn things around. It's sort of a birthday tradition.

What are some of your favorite birthday non-traditional "traditions?"

    For my best friend's birthday every year, I take her out and I try to find the strangest stuff for us to do/see. It's fun to try to outdo my weirdness each year.

    Happy birthday!!  Mine is Friday!

    The last few years my mom and aunt have taken me out to dinner for my bday.  Real exciting!  But my last few birthdays have also been disasters... last year I was really sick and literally stayed in bed.  I had wanted to go to the gas station down the street to get something, but I was too sick, and it turned out it got robbed that night!  Then the years before it was Hurricane Sandy and the ice storm, when I lost power for 3 days for my 30th!

    My biggest tradition is getting a chocolate chip cake, my favorite. Food is always the best tradition for me.

    Well my moms birthday tradition for all the kids is to play the Captain Zoom song, one year she couldn't find the tapes, so she sang it to me over voicemail.. I just got the MP3 for my son and H :) let the tradition continue, it will be more fun as the one playing the song..

    Personally, I love cookie cakes, so we usually get a cookie cake, after eating dinner.. I am an April Fools baby, so other than the lame jokes everyone says, I am playing pratical jokes on others.. like last I took my H phone, and in his texting short cuts, I made it to where when ever he would type "it" the phone would auto correct to "pancakes". every morning he tells me he "made it" to work.. but I got "made Pancakes".. it still makes me laugh..

    I also use the excuse that I am an April Fools baby so I can play April Fools when ever I want, so it isn't strickly a birthday thing..

    I don't come from a big birthday family but FI does so he takes me out to eat.

    Loved reading your guys' stories. So much fun.

    I am currently hungover and trying not to die. Last night was rough. But both myself and my MOH won rounds of bingo so it was a good time!
