9/24/15 reviews - Caesar's Palace, Trevi, Joey Allen, DJ Godzilla, DDB and more

edited December 2015 in Nevada-Las Vegas
I haven't been on the boards for a while and I'm a bit late with my reviews, but I am finally posting them for wonderful Vegas wedding day! Everything went off perfectly and I'm so glad that we chose the vendors we did (which is why everyone gets A's!). These boards helped me so much during the planning process, honestly I don't know what I would have done without them, so now it's my turn to give back! :)

DDB A+
The DDB was our meet and greet event the night before. We had it from 6-9, which was good because it was very hot!  It was a lot of fun and a big hit with our guests. We used our own playlist for music which was great. We had a lot of people for whom it was their first time in Vegas, so it was the perfect way to see the strip. We dropped off the alcohol and water the day before with no issues.

The only downside was that we had a late start as one of our guests didn't get to the bus until 6:30, which was fine, but when I asked Michael about extending the time to 9:30 he said no, that we booked 6-9 so that's what it is. I was quite disappointed about that because it meant we had to skip one of our stops and I didn't see why he wouldn't just bring us back at 9:30 to accommodate that, but oh well.

Pastry Palace A++++
Pastry Palace did our cake - they can make vegan wedding cakes which we had a tasting of the year before and it was delicious. I worked with Jessica who answered a lot of questions I had (I couldn't decide on the cake size or design!) and was very helpful. She also ensured that the cake was delivered to Trevi for a small delivery fee. The cake was delicious and we got a lot of compliments on it from our guests.

Enchanted Florist A+++
I worked with Kathryn, who I had contacted because I wanted loose rose petals for the tables at Trevi. She offers them in three different sizes - I got the large bag which was very reasonable at $50. She also delivered them to Trevi the day of the wedding for a small delivery fee of $12.

Stevee Danielle A++++
I was nervous about not doing a makeup trial, but I was so happy with the way my hair and makeup turned out. I gave her some pictures for my hair inspiration and she nailed it perfectly, I loved it. I told her that I normally don't wear makeup so I wanted it to be minimal, and she did a great job of making it look like it was just enough. At first I asked her to make it a little bit less than how she did it, but she explained that it may not show up in pictures that well so I trusted her judgment and she was right.

Joey Allen A++++
Joey was amazing! He was awesome to work with and gave us great direction, and is also just a really nice guy. We took most of our pictures before the ceremony so that afterwards we could just take the family/friends shots and then head right to the reception. We hired a limo to take us around for the pre-ceremony pics, I had a select few shots that I wanted and then I told Joey that I trusted his judgement with any other locations he thought would work. We got so many awesome pictures around the strip, and I'm so glad I paid the fee to waive Caesar's photographers (Imagine) because the ceremony pictures were incredible as well. He works hard to get the right shot. We only booked him for 6 hours, but he arrived early and ended up staying late as well - even after he told us he was leaving, we saw he still stayed around for a while taking pictures of the food as it came out! It took about a month to get the pics back from him and it was totally worth the wait, they are amazing.

Presidential Limo A++++
We hired Presidential to drive my husband, Joey and I around the strip for two hours to take pictures before the ceremony. Our driver Steven was great - he sent me a text a few minutes before his arrival to let me know he was on his way, and then another one when he arrived at the hotel. He was very nice and accommodating - he even let us run out at a red light to take pictures at Bellagio right before the fountains went off!

Caesar's Palace A++++
My wedding coordinator was Melissa and she was outstanding. She answered my many questions and was so understanding when I changed my mind about things. She was really on top of everything and I never stressed out or worried about anything. Venus Garden was just beautiful - I had a hard time choosing between Venus and Juno Garden, and Venus ended up being perfect for our intimate wedding. I also liked the fact that you didn't have to walk through the pool area to get there!

Caesar's itself was nice and was where most of my guests stayed as well (we got a room block). We stayed in the Palace tower and our room was fine, nothing amazing but a decent size with a big spa tub.  One night of our stay was free as it was included in our wedding package.

Trevi A+++++
I am so happy that I chose Trevi for our wedding reception. Michelle was absolutely amazing to work with, and throughout the tons of emails and phone calls I had with her (where I asked a million questions!) she was always so very kind and helpful. After a year of communication, when I finally met her the day before the wedding to drop off some items to her, we hugged like old friends. She also worked with me to create a completely customized vegan menu that was incredible. My guests all loved the food and are still talking about how delicious it was. The space was set up beautifully (I loved how she incorporated the loose rose petals on the tables) and the view overlooking the fountains was amazing. I honestly cannot recommend Trevi enough, I am thrilled that everything turned out the way it did.

DJ Godzilla A++++
Calvin is the best! My reception was small (30 people) and I wasn't going to get a DJ initially, but I am so glad I did as he was amazing and really added to the atmosphere. My guests are still telling me what a great DJ he was and how much fun they had dancing. He did an awesome job throughout the evening, keeping the pace slow and mellow during the cocktail hour and dinner and then playing upbeat music after. He really helped the event feel like a fun party which is exactly what I wanted. He did an incredible job and was a genuinely nice person also.

Creative Bridal Wear A+++
We shipped my dress and veil and my husband's suit and shoes to Creative Bridal a couple of weeks before our arrival in Vegas. I spoke mostly to Kelly, but everyone there was great. They dropped off the dress when I asked (you have to call them when you arrive to give them your room number) and everything looked awesome and was steamed beautifully. The day after the wedding we left everything at the bell desk and they picked it up and shipped us back home for us. Super convenient!

Re: 9/24/15 reviews - Caesar's Palace, Trevi, Joey Allen, DJ Godzilla, DDB and more

  • Thanks so much for your reviews, it sounds like you had an awesome day! Congrats!!

    We are getting married at Caesars Venus Garden on the 1st December and Joey is our photographer - I love reading so many great things about him. We definitely made the right choice in picking him to shoot our day.

    We were looking at presidential limo too - did you go for a sedan for you two and Joey or a limo? Your timings have really helped me, I was unsure if 2 hours would be enough for a strip tour, did you go to the sign at all?

    Thanks so much again :)
  • @mrsptobeinvegas Thank you! You won't regret going with Caesar's and with Joey! Our guests all loved the Venus garden and thought it was beautiful, and I can't say enough good things about Joey.

    We actually got the Escalade as I figured it would just be easier (and faster!) to get into and out of. I recommend it, especially if your dress is big or has a long train! Joey sat in the front and my husband and I sat in the back. Two hours was good for us, but no we didn't do the sign - we went to Bellagio, Venetian, Aria, and just a few random spots here and there (he got some nice pics of us just walking on the strip and also walking through the casino at Caesar's).

    We did go to the sign the night before on the bus, and one thing you would need to factor in  timing-wise is waiting in for your turn. We were at the sign around 7 pm on a Wednesday, so we only had to wait like 10 minutes, but I imagine if you are going there at a busier time (like on a weekend) you may need to wait longer than that.
