Workout Accountability: Wednesday

Morning all!

Last night I lifted and did the elliptical.  Tonight I'm working out at home with a kickboxing dvd.

Ugh, and I forgot my lunch today, which means I'll have to go buy something.

Hope everyone else is having a better Wednesday!

Re: Workout Accountability: Wednesday

  • I had a really obnoxious headache that wouldn't go away yesterday, so decided to make it my day off.  I'm really bummed about it, because the rest of me felt fine.

So, it'll be cardio and weights for me tonight.

  • Yesterday I rested my foot.  It's still bothering me which is obnoxious.  I have a 10K in a couple weeks and a half in just short of two months.  I NEED TO RUN.  I'm getting so frustrated.  In all, it is feeling better but not enough for me to want to run on it.  I'm going to hit up my local running store to get another pair of shoes at some point this week.  Also, I want to look into inserts for my work shoes.  Apparently Dr. Scholls makes special ones for "ball of foot" pain.

Tonight I'm thinking about doing weights and abs.  I'm hoping to be able to do some sort of cardio by Friday ::fingers crossed::.
  • Good morning!

Last night I did W3D2 of C25K plus some ab work. My rotator cuff/shoulder wasn't feeling great, so I didn't want to put it with weights. I am also getting crazy shin pain again, so I think I will look into getting new shoes this weekend.

Tonight I'm going to try 30DS and maybe some treadmill depending on how I feel.

    Have a good one!

  • K, I slacked on this board for MONTHS now, I don't even know if I know most people here anymore Embarassed but time to get back!!!!

FI and I are now doing the Tough Mudder in 2013 and are using that as the initial motivation to get us going. I have always enjoyed working out (mainly a weights girl) and he quit the gym over a year ago. I am now on week 4 of C25K (Cardio is definintely my weak point) and FI joined the gym just over a month ago, starting C25K this week.

I'm going to start getting my butt on here as another way to keep me accountable :)
  • I didn't do diddly shizzle this morning :)  It felt GREAT!  Marathon is only a week and a half away, so I'm taking it easy, putting in some short runs.
  • Wow BMcLeodTeam - Tough Mudder! I have a friend who has done it a few times. Crazy! Good luck!

This morning I did some weights for about 50 minutes with FI. I wish I could do lifting and cardio on the same days but I don't have time to be at the gym for more than an hour in the morning before I have to leave and go to work. Oh well!

    Happy hump day ladies!

  • Elliptical at the gym again today. I need to get some variety in there I know, but I feel like I can't beat burning almost 800 calories in an hour- it just feels to freaking good!

A little AW- I am wearing size 8 dress pants!!!! It's been a while and when I bought them a couple years ago I seriously could only wear them for like a day before they were too tight again! I am so freaking pumped!
  • I had mentioned wanting to do it awhile ago to a friend... I was in the Canadian army for 6 years and kinda miss that kind of challenge... Well then he came back to me with a list of the 10 people he found that agreed to be 'on my team' haha so I knew I had to put my money where my mouth is :)
  • Good Morning!

Will train this afternoon - I imagine a 30 minute circuit and will run for 30 minutes. I'm trying to get back into running again after resting my left knee for a couple of weeks since it was starting to feel a little sore. I'm also hoping the pool at my gym will be open soon - it's been closed for remodeling. I really want to start swimming again!

It's also "that time of month," but I am noticing that my PMS symptoms aren't as bad as they once were. Usually about a week prior I'd feel so bloated and blah and would skip workouts as a result (in addition to caving into the cupcake/cookie/ice cream/burger cravings). This time around I didn't do that and I still managed to drop a pound this past week! I've noticed progress I'm making in the area of diet. Without thinking about it, I'm measuring out food and servings; I realized I was probably putting more agave in my coffee than I should; I look through my fridge and I notice my mind is no longer thinking "I wish I had a burger" or "there's nothing to eat here"  but "mmmmm I could go for some greek yogurt" or "what can I whip up with chicken, spinach, and quinoa?" I definitely feel more mindful about eating, why I eat, what I choose to eat, and how I feel after I've eaten something. This is a great feeling as opposed to the mindless eating I use to do which would result in an overconsumption of calories.

K... back to research work. My defense date is only 15 days away! Once that's done then I can focus on celebrating and finishing up wedding stuff. Yay!

    Have a great Wednesday!

  • Felt good to get back to the gym last night!

Got 35 minutes on the elliptical, did over 100 crunches, stretched, and got 15 minutes of weight lifting in. I feel like I've been neglecting weight lifting a little too much over the past two weeks, so on Thursday I really want to push myself with it!

  • normally I take Wednesday off... BUT it's a gorgeous day so I'm either going to take my dog on a nice long walk or a run when I get home and enjoy this beautiful weather!!
  • Last night was the elliptical for 35 minutes and a half hour of weights.  It's been beautiful weather around here too, so I got an extra little walk to the post office in too!

    Thank you!!
  • I did 30DS this morning and I'm heading to the gym tonight for 35 minutes of elliptical. I stumbled across the LOFT clearance website this morning (add'l 30% off!) and ordered a pair of cords a size too small... incentive clothes for less than $10? Why, yes please!

  • kp - That's awesome!  That gives me motivation during that ;)
  • Last night we went to the gym. The plan was to start week 5 of C25K, however I didn't put the right podcast on my iPod so I wouldn't have had any idea of how long to run/walk for. So I did another day of week 4 and will start week 5 tomorrow. Depressing. On the up side, it seemed a lot easier!

We lifted after C25K, so spent about an hour total at the gym. Today is rest day :)
