Mexico was gorgeous. It only rained the first day we were there, and for two hours tops. I ate so much guac and drank lots of tequilla. So Monday after work we drove straight to Philly. We met up with friends at a bar near our hotel. By the time we got back to the hotel, my bf fell asleep right away. Because I'm a worrier and didn't think we'd wake up in time, I never slept. Alarms went off at 4:00am and I frantically started getting ready. Made it with a few minutes to spare for our flight. It was a four hour flight, I slept half of it.

After we landed and got through customs we got our rental car. It was actually easier to drive there than anywhere here. We stayed at Now Jade Riviera Cancun. The resort was gorgeous. Our room was on the third floor so we had a balcony that allowed view of the ocean.
The first two days we stayed at the resort. We went kayaking, spent a lot of time at the pool bar, walked the beach searching for seashells, tested most of the restaurants, and got to know all of the bartenders. I did get a little sunburned, but the worst was the bug bites. Of course I didn't get any benadryl until we were home, so my arms, legs, butt all have these giant hickey looking things on them.

Thursday we went off the resort. We started the day off going to Tulum to explore the Mayan ruins. From there we went to one of the local beaches and went snorkeling. We had lunch before we went snorkeling, and I made friends with a stray dog that was wondering the beach. Snorkeling was fun, but it was later in the day so the fish weren't that bright. After we finished snorkeling the boat took us near the ruins so we could see them from the ocean. Then we went back to shore. We drove over to an adventure park called Xplor. They have the park open at night and there was ziplining, atvs, and river paddling all through the underground caves. You had to wear a helmet the whole time since 90% of the park is underground. It was fun, but not enough to do for the price we paid. We then came back to the resort and had dinner (dinner at Xplor was not good). Then danced the night away at one of the outdoor bars.

At one point my bf suggested that we go dancing at least once a week so that I can teach him. That led to us walking down to the pool area where there was a pavillion. They didn't have the pool lit at night, so it was just us and the stars. My bf decided to sing anything that popped in his head (mostly Jimmy Buffet), and we danced. That was my favorite part of the entire trip.
