Best Makeup Remover?

Kind of a spin off from the face wash thread last week but, what is everyone's favorite make up remover? I've been using cheapo wipes but my skins has been drying out from them lately.

Re: Best Makeup Remover?

  • Albolene. It's sort of like a cold cream but is mineral-oil based. It feels sort of like a harder Vaseline. A lot of drag queens use it so for everyday makeup it's a breeze!

What I love best is that I don't have to rub or scrub my skin, I just massage it in and then wipe with a damp washcloth. Especially my lashes, I used to have to scrub and scrub and there would still be mascara left over! When I use Albolene there is no irritation and it's very moisturizing because of the oil. (But doesn't leave behind any grease or anything.)

You can find it on the bottom shelf at CVS or Walgreens, it's probably $8 or $12 for a huge tub. Use a q-tip or spatula for sanitary reasons!

    Oh and it's unscented. :)

  • I use shine eye makeup remover cloths from younique. It easily takes everything off and I don't have any negative effects from them.

  • I use the luminous clean makeup remover wipes by Ponds (the pink package, not the blue).  And then I put moisturizer on afterwards.

  • I have L'Oreal Clean Artiste Waterproof and Long-Wearing eye makeup remover. It is awesome!!! It really gets all of my makeup off, even the super hard to remove stuff. It isn't a huge bottle but it lasts a long time. It only costs about $6-7 and works so much better than the $24 Urban Decay stuff I have tried.

  • Depends on budget for me. Which ever is cheapest between Walmart brand or Neutrogena dual action {the one you shake to mix the stuff} - also this is similar to Clinique "take the day off"
Or I use baby/makeup wipes from dollar store.

I think the kind I use is the knock off version of these... I wonder if the Ponds would work better for me.
  • Kirkland makeup wipes and good old coconut oil and some tissue.

  • Sephora brand eye makeup remover is fantastic! Takes off waterproof stuff no problem. I have very sensitive skin and it has never been an issue.
  • Another vote for Albolene.  That stuff is amazing, and I get fewer breakouts with it.  It does bug my eyes however, but I'm prone to dry eyes.  Castor oil works fantastic for me on removing eye makeup.
  • Dudes you're going to thank me when you take my advice and try Korean skin care products. They have a 10-step system which starts off with cleaning makeup with oil, followed by cleansing foam, toner, essence, etc. Started a year ago when I had dry skin that'll get allergic reactions from anything. Now I have a face that feels like a baby's butt. A few awesome brands I use are Nature republic, Missha and Skin food.
