Wedding Woes

Tuesday!

The kids are back in school today.  I am always bummed when they start back, but I have absolutely no routine while they're home, so it's fine, I guess.

DH and I canceled Netflix in October.  We just restarted it Sunday night so we can watch Making a Murderer.  We have watched 4 episodes so far and I almost need a sedative when we turn them off.

I put away all our xmas decorations (inside, the lights outside will have to stay put until it's not so cold) on Saturday and we had our last family xmas of the season on Sunday.

Re: Tuesday!

  • The kiddo started back today.  His friend's dad took him in early so he could find his classes. It's weird being here alone.

I'm thinking about watching Making a Murderer again.  It's all over my FB feed. People have come up with some amazing theories...and memes.

It's going to be really cold when we go skiing.  I hope that it's sunny.

Confession:  I started this last night after the kids were in bed...and fell asleep.  Imma try again tonight.

Yesterday was the first day it was truly winter-cold at the bus stop this season.  Today, we're getting ready to leave and I ask Wooz where her hat and gloves are.  Not only does she say "I don't know," but she says it in the most bored, disinterested, borderline-sassmouth tween tone.  As if I asked her "What do you think the Fed is going to do about interest rates the next time they meet?"  24 hours, and we're already down a hat and two gloves, hopefully temporarily.  Plus the hall closet is a disorganized mess (that's at least 50% on me), which made finding replacements more time-consuming than it really should have been.  We made the school bus, but that was more luck than anything.

I have been saying that it would be nice to have one of those benches with the storage baskets and drawers and stuff, but I think it just escalated to an actual need.

Every month, I have to run a report out of SAP for reporting/audit purposes, and I am having such a hard time plowing through it this week.  I have post-Christmas blahs, for sure.

New kitty is settling in.  We're letting her mix with our older cat now, and our older cat is a little vocal with her, but otherwise chill.
  • My office decided to roast us today, so dressing slightly warmer than usual has backfired and I have my fan on full blast.

I start PT on my neck today. Hopefully it helps and doesn't make me useless for the rest of the day. (i'm going during lunch)

I have a question I tried to post on here last night, but the mobile version wasn't working,so I'll do it now.
  • DH and I were up till 1 am watching Making of a Murderer. I am dead today and I've got a butt load to do. Other than that it's the same old shit.

I envy you.  My office is freezing today.  I've already made two cups of tea just to try to warm up.
  • I cooked my first meal in my new place last night.  There are still some little things I need, but it felt like i was starting to establish a new "normal" and that's helpful.  My desk is almost all set up and organized, the books are out of boxes, and hopefully in the next few days I can get the 2nd set of shelves built and the rest of stuff out of boxes.  Then onto hanging things up and looking for a couch.

Tonight is book club and tomorrow is pub night.  I'm so glad the holidays are over and life can start returning to my normal busy.
  • Same ol' same ol' here.. FI finally asked one of his friends to be a groomsman. My bridal party is complete :) I'm going to be getting back to planning the wedding next week I think, or maybe the week after. All of a sudden, I'm not in a hurry to get things done.

Its a quite week this week. I'm liking that. FI is still having problems with his eyes, so trying to figure out what the hell is wrong is getting stressful for FI.

    Wow I'm scatter brained today.

  • We passed all our inspections!  Drywall can go up, but I don't really know if it's going to be this week or next.  Max's birthday party is Sunday.  I'm prepping 2 lasagnas and 1 johnny marzetti and throwing them in the freezer so I don't have to mess with it if they do come this week.

    That's about it.
  • Oh, and in random shit DS says:  so as we've discussed, the kids know the actual names of all of their body parts, genitals and otherwise.  When DD was in Pull-Ups, when it was time for a change she would always say that her Pull-Up was wet.  Apparently, DS's thing is "Penis wet!"  Which, you know, I suppose it is.  But it's just sort of amusing to see him with this little frown on his face, announcing "Penis wet!"

Mostly, I'm just glad that he's recognizing that this is a state of affairs that needs addressing.  Hopefully the next step will be hitting the potty before we reach that point.  He's done it a couple of times, so I'm hopeful.
  • Actual words out of my mouth yesterday "you're going to get peanut butter on your penis."  Max is terrible about putting his hands in his pants and the underwear just makes it easier.

My husband is delusional.  I spent $89 on the food for Max's party except the veggies and the cake (another $40 tops).  Included in that $89 was a winter coat for 6let and 8 pounds of chicken.  DH can't believe HOW MUCH I spent.  No effer, that's supposed to be amazement at HOW LITTLE I spent.
