Help please!

Hi! My name is Kim and I need lots of help, I am planning a beach wedding and can not find a ceremony site that is on lake michigan with a reception site not to far away that I have liked. I live in Grand Rapids and I am willing to travel an hour or so if I find somewhere I really love. I also wanted my reception site pretty close to where I have my ceremony. One other thing I was looking for was a reception site that is reasonable in price and is either in or walking distance to a hotel or any other over night accommadations for my guests. Am I asking for to much? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!!!! Thanks!

Also i have tried a few beach houses, my barefoot wedding, and the holiday inn in spring lake and wasnt impressed.

There is a huge band shell in St. Joseph that people use for their ceremonies, and it overlooks the lighthouse and is right next to sand dunes. In terms of reception venues, there is the Heritage Hall that is less than a mile away and is pretty gorgeous. Fits about 200 people I think. There's also hotels and beach houses for rent there. I haven't lived there for a couple of years now, so I'm not entirely certain what's available. They were doing some new building for a carousel and fountains and stuff. Definitely worth a shot though!

I have heard/read excellent reviews of Ventura Pines as well and Camp Blodgett in Grand Haven.

We used Ventura Pines Cottage. We had the most wonderful weekend there and absolutely LOVED the placed. I would highly recommend it. Hotels are w/i 10 min. We had the wedding and reception right there next to Lake Michigan.

Camp Blodgett is gorgeous! Another great reception venue is Harborfront in Grand Haven, my friend just had her reception there. I don't know about ceremony sites though... I think you can get a permit to get married on the beach?

Thanks for your help. I am very much interested in ventura pines. Was there plenty of room there for your guests? Also did you have it catered and where was the food placed?
