My MIL and I have a great relationship, but her logic just does not make sense to me. I asked her whether she preferred a pin-on or wrist corsage for the wedding, and she told me that she does not want any flowers. Ok, cool, but I just found out that her reasoning is that "It's too expensive, I don't want you guys spending the money on that" (FI and I are paying for the wedding ourselves). However, we're get a car service to take her home the night of the wedding (she's afraid to drive at night), and she's taken me up on the offer to pay for her makeup to be professionally done, no fights there.
It's not the money, I'll gladly pay for the car service and makeup so she can get pampered and enjoy the wedding without having to stress about getting home afterwards, but seriously, I don't think $25 for a corsage is going to break the bank, especially since she's still trying to convince us to add things to our wedding that neither of us want, and expecting that we will pay for them because she wants them.
Sorry ladies, just needed to rant a bit.
