My sister did mine. I think it looked great and I received compliments on it. We did a few practice/trial runs.

I know Melissa Rashon and Alison Feamster are highly recommended around here.

I'm having mine done by Kelli Ramey. I had my trial the other day and she did a FANTASTIC job! And she's a total sweetheart. I opted to have mine done simply for the reason of one less thing to worry about on my wedding day :)

I have been doing make up for huge events since high school. I am doing my own. Can't afford to pay someone else to do it.

What about going to a make-up counter? I have heard of people doing this, but what if you don't like it, then you have wasted a lot of time. Can you do a trial run with them?

we're on a tight budget so I'll be doing it myself. Last time (this is my 2nd wedding), I went to a MAC counter (made an appt) and had them do my makeup and then I bought it all. They gave me step by step instructions and a drawing too, and I thought it all turned out great. And I got all new makeup for not much more than I would have paid someone. But, I also didn't put a lot of makeup on either. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, definitely hire someone.

I am actually having a Mary Kay rep do my make-up as well as my Mom and a couple bridesmaids. She has been selling MK for many years, and has earned her 12th car, so I figured she was good at what she did! We did a trial run a while back so I could get started on the right colors and skin care and it looked great. I will meet with her again closer to the wedding to pick a final look for the day. She is only charging $20 a face, which is great! She will travel to Columbus so if you want her info, let me know! :)

While I've always been comfortable doing my own makeup, I wanted to be sure my makeup would be perfect for the wedding. I used MelissaRoshan for my makeup and she also did my husband's concealer, MIL's makeup, 3 of my 4 bridesmaids, and my mom's makeup. I'm happy I hired someone for the wedding because my makeup looked flawless from noon our wedding day until I washed my face the next afternoon.

I am having mine done, but a word of advice--if you are paying to have it done, definitely get a package that includes a trial or pay for a trial.  I had mine done for our e-pics and HATED it!  A trial would have saved a lot of stress.

I was going to do hte make up counter idea but our schedule that morning is already really crazy.

My bridesmaid offered to do my make up so I think we are gonna go to a make up counter and get a "lesson" with her with me and then buy the stuff (cause the stuff I have wont last all day) and then do some trial runs with my bridesmaid.

    Thanks for the input
