  Open the box.  Make sure nothing is broken.  See what's in the box.  Write a Thank you note.  Mail the thank you note.  Put the gifts back in the box and wait until after the wedding to use the gift.  Repeat as necessary.

  Write and send the thank you notes now, but don't use the gifts until after the wedding.

  If you happen to get any checks before the big day, you should deposit them immediately but not spend the money until after the big day.
