Cabin Fever

Captains Log. Day 3.

I'm 3 days into my 7 day vacation from work and bored out of my mind. We got hit with some pretty bad weather that makes traveling impossible and kiddo has been out of school all week.

I've washed and folded everything in my home, cleaned base boards, bathed the cat, watched two seasons of Glee, painted endless pictures with the kiddo, and I'm so freaking bored. It's too cold to be outside for more than ten minutes, but we all managed to go out for a bit for a good snowball fight.

I've got three wedding related packages coming, so thats the only hope I have for ending my boredom.

Ugh.

FI keeps suggesting various carnal activities but even that is getting boring. What do you guys like to do while stuck at home ?

    Read?
Bake bread, cook stew, watch movies, have dance parties b
  • I've been reading on and off, but can't seem to find a good book that keeps me interested.

Baking bread does sound really yummy. I'll have to do that tomorrow!

  • Zumba/yoga videos from youtube

  • Take up cross stitching. You'll wish you had 365 hundred-hour days a year with no obligations! There is never enough time to stitch!

  • I've been home going on week 4 since I had surgery last month. I have watched a lot of Netflix, took some training classes in my second job career field (I cannot legally work for my first job while out on short term disability), did a lot of spring cleaning type things (filed papers, started gathering stuff for donation), and, of course, spent time online.

Just by coincidence, we're closing on a new home next week. So, I was home to do all of the paperwork and field all of the questions, phone calls for the sale.

Honestly, I am about to go nuts, so it's a good thing the doctor just cleared me to start exercising and I'm going back to work on the 14th.

  • Honestly, I could sit and watch TV for hours on end and not get bored with it. I also like to look up recipes that I would never have time to make on a work day and make them. Recipes that require lots of prep and many different steps always hold my attention.

Ditto this except I'm more of a knitter.. Either way, it's fun keeping busy and having a result at the end!
  • I've never cross stitched, so I'm going to check out some youtube tutorials. Kiddo finally has school today!!

We are going to parents night at our tech center for a book reading and a magic show tonight. I'm more excited about that than the 4 year old is!

  • I like knitting, cooking meals I don't generally have the time/energy for, reading.
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • Watch stupid movies and/or TV
    Read
    1000 piece puzzles
    Batch cooking and/or baking.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I reorganized my drawers last week so everything is filed vs stacked.   My husband rolled his eyes but he hasn't complained about knowing where his stuff is.

DD is spending the weekend at my IL'S for some quality time with the grandparents and she is next!
  • The weather finally broke today, so no more snow. We got 13 inches between Tuesday and Wenesday. I might rearrange our dresser. I did the kiddos dresser and closet the other day and forgot ours. Thankfully I go back to work on Sunday!

LOL I just posted about cabin fever (but more about getting out of it).  Sorry for the double post.  I came back after a week of being away and didn't look further down enough on here.  My bad.

edit:   I agree with @thefanciestbeckler.  TV/Netflix is my thing.
