Wedding Woes

Thursday!

I had such a good day off yesterday...I did some shopping, started on Easter stuff for the kids, got DefConn new shoes, and ordered him a new mattress that should come tomorrow.   He'll finally have a decent bed (instead of the bullshit broken box spring he's been sleeping on for far too long because we're a parenting fail).

The doors for my office and water heater we ordered should be in next week.  YAY projects.

DH has a 4 day weekend over Easter.  I have a 3 day weekend.  The day after Easter is DefConn's actual bday, so we're going to go do something fun.

We only have 15 daycare payments left, not that I'm counting down or anything. ;)

Re: Thursday!

  • One more day until spring break. I need to wash clothes, start to pack, get my toes done and at some point clean my house. I hate coming back home from vacation with a messy house.

Please expect some randomness from me today because I'm not trying to work hard today.

    That is all from me.

  • We slept with the windows open last night, and it was glorious.  Supposed to be 80 today.  They're calling for rain Sunday, so we're rejiggering our weekend plans.  Waiting to find out when the Bobcat will show up to start work on the backyard.
  • It's Prudie day!!!!

Lots and lots of pollen here. My allergies are all over the place! We had the windows and back door open for a while last night, and DH and I are both paying for it.

DH leaves for his new job on Tuesday, so he took off tomorrow so we can go on a proper date and spend time together before he has to go :) I'm excited about that.

Other than that, nothing too interesting here. I'm just glad tomorrow is Friday.

  • I had this huge pork roast that I'm making pulled pork with. H invited his family over to see the new house and for dinner. Which is fine, but H doesn't understand that I can't just slap a pile of pulled pork on a paper plate and hand it to them and that I do not teleport home from work. So last night I had to go to the grocery store and then I spent like three hours in the kitchen prepping a dip, coleslaw and twice baked potatoes. Today I plan to sneak out of the office early to get home and slap everything together. Then I have to hold back when FIL and stepMIL complain about their kids like it's not their fault that they're losers.

    I plan to drink heavily.

Best plan ever. And I feel your pain...DH has done that shit to me before.  So annoying.
  • Yay Thursday!

    That's all I've got.
  • I'm feeling a lot better today.  My eyes are still swollen and I still feel a bit under the weather.  I had an awesome committee meeting last night though and I slept HARD.  I'm not sure I even moved positions last night.  I didn't sleep any longer than normal, but it was good sleep.  I've been realizing that the last 4-5 months of stress, not eating right, dealing with major life changing decision, emergencies, and being slightly overcommitted, is starting to catch up with me.  I think if I can make it through this month and start getting caught up, I'll feel better.
  • @VarunaTT if you haven't tried it, Flonase has really been helping me. Granted, I'm still sneezing and stuff, but it's helped enough to be worth the money. They sell it OTC now.

  • I do take a Zyrtec.  We've had some messed up weather here in MO and everything is arriving really early and there are some trees blooming together that don't usually bloom together...both of which I'm allergic too.  It's just a perfect storm.  Lots of people are sharing my misery.  Thanks for the recommendation, I might pick some up.

This morning I had conferences for M2.  I walked in and the teachers said "she's awesome.  Why are you here?"  I asked if she was ready for Kinder and they said yes so we walked out.

It's rainy so this afternoon will be a movie day.

Sidenote: I have a friend that is constantly posting articles about how terrible our food is.  I don't disagree, but I don't know how to fix it.  Then it leads me down the path of "if I have this issue how do people with less time/money/resources deal?"
  • @thefanciestbeckler that gif made literally laugh out loud. I watched it repeatedly, giggling to myself. Thank you.

@6fsn I feel the same way about the food situation. Especially you think of low income areas without a grocery store, they call the food deserts. Where fast food or gas stations are the only places with in walking distance where people can get something to eat.
  • I got into a terrible quarrel with a friend of mine one time over the Neighborhood Walmarts.  The fact is, here in my city, they are building those stores in food deserts, b/c the company has the money to take the loss for awhile.  Do I wish it was something other than Walmart?  YES.  Am I more glad that there is finally an affordable grocery store, that is a good grocery store, available next to bus stops, in neighborhoods that had nothing?  YES and more so than wishing it was something else.

My mom had her 1 year appointment with her oncologist yesterday. She is 1 year clear of cancer! YAY! And tomorrow she will be 60, so she is having a pretty good week so far.

YES!!!  Vibes for continued good health for your mom and happy bday to her!  Sounds like she's got some amazing reasons to celebrate.

Yay! Yes this! Congrats on her 1 year being cancer free! That's exciting and amazing, also sending out healthy vibes for her.

Also, FI says yeserday that he's feeling sick so he leaves work early. So I head home to take care of him since I didn't work until the evening. Well when I went to work he decides to go play basketball and hang with friends. Which obviously tells me he's not sick and just wanted to leave work early yesterday. So you can imagine why I would be mad when this morning he tells me he doesn't want to go to work today. Well I said screw that get up and go to work and he was all pouty. But I mean, if your feeling sick STAY HOME AND REST, do NOT go out and play basketball and hang out lol that's my rant for today so we'll see how he's feeling later today. On a more positive note, my job decided to pay for life insurance for all of us. So I spent time yesterday signing up, and I also found out if I leave this job the insurance will follow me so yay! Lol
