HELP! How to find a live translator for English to Spanish ceremony.

My fiance speaks English as does most of his family and friends. I speak fluently English as well as Spanish and almost ALL of my family speaks and understands only Spanish. We would want to ideally have the ceremony in English while someone is translating it live but are having a hard time finding this service. We're located in Texas and aren't looking until a date next year.

Thank you for all the help!

Re: HELP! How to find a live translator for English to Spanish ceremony.

  • There are lots of companies that do translation services.  Some of these companies offer translators to accompany people to interviews, doctor's appointments, etc.  They probably will not advertise wedding translations, but could totally do it if you call and explain.  The only issue I see is how you are going to do the live translation.  Would you have to officiant pause after every sentence or have the translator talk while the officiant talks?  The first option might drag out the ceremony for too long, but the second could get confusing.
