1997- In PA.

1997- 4th grade, rec league soccer, rec league softball, being a kid

2005- Graduating high school/starting college, working part-time at a bookstore

2012- Working at my previous job as a corporate payroll specialist for a staffing company, dating my then BF/now H

1997- Some girl named Amber I think and another girl named Anna. I'm fb friends with one of them.

2005- Two of the women who later became two of my BMs. I'm still friends with them but we don't socialize as much anymore.

2012- A couple of ladies who I'm still close friends with but who have since moved out of the area.

Were you in a relationship?

1997- Lol no...I was 9!

2005- Nope. I dated a guy for a month or so in the first semester of college.

2012- Yes. With my now H.

1997- Ummm we moved from this horrible town in PA to a suburb of DC that year and that was pretty awesome! I still think that was the best place we've ever lived and I wonder how my life would have been if we had stayed there instead of moving again after another year.

2005- Graduating from high school and going to college are the big life events of that year.

2012- Hmmm H and I were living together this year and we would buy our house in 2013. That's pretty much all I got.

2005- I was a sophomore/junior in college, had an internship with a city agency and my activities included lots of beer pong and lots of sex

2012- Work-wise, I was doing pretty much the same thing that I'm doing now, I was probably going out a lot more than I currently do, and I was wedding planning

1997- Kelly: We are friends on FB but I haven't seen her in like 8-9 years

2005- Steph: Yes, she was my MOH

1997- 7th grade. Transitioning from Catholic school to public middle school. Cheer, cross country, soccer, summer camp. Loved to draw and hoola hoop.

2005- junior in college. Worked part time as a bank teller (full time over the summer). Was not in any organized activities, just hung out with friends.

2012- working accounting at a cardboard box factory. Enjoyed running, hiking, and boating on the lake with friends

Who was your best friend? Are you still friends?

1997- Jess W. We drifted when we went to separate high schools, but still keep in touch. Saw her last weekend actually.

2005- Shannon W. We were dating best friends- we drifted when we both broke up with them, but still keep in touch

2012- Efstathia C. Yes, she was my MOH and even though she's been away at school, she is still the first one I go to with important things.

Were you in a relationship?

1997- This kid Justin at school....you know the whole 7th grade Catholic school relationship when you say you're "going out" and you sit together in the lunch room but that's the extent of it. Think we maybe held hands once and talked on the phone once lol

2005- uuugh my ex. He was an abusive douche both physically and mentally and ruined some very good years for me.

2012- two years in with my Husband, but we were not engaged yet

Some fave items of that year (song, movie, clothing, life event/memory):

1997- Titanic! Delia's clothing, sparkly chopsticks in my hair from Claire's, pens with the feather poof on the end, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Think this is the year I flew to AZ by myself to visit my uncle & cousin. Big deal for a 12 year old to fly alone.

2005- car movies like Fast & Furious franchise/ Gone in 60 seconds, anything Will Ferrell at the time. Going to car shows with my ex. Rock music- think I went to Staind and Foo Fighters concerts.

2012- whatever current pop music was on the radio like Lady Gaga. Basically the same clothes I wear now! First ever vacation with H- Myrtle Beach.

1997- At my parent's home (which is still the same today!) in San Antonio.

2005- In a dorm in Austin while attending school at UT.

2012- In an apartment with a friend here in San Antonio.

1997- Well, I was 12 so I guess I was in middle school? I was in band.

2005- Living the college life and working out all the time - I wish I had those days back sometimes!

2012- I had just started working at my current job, and I think this is the year I met H!

Who was your best friend? Are you still friends?

1997- I am facebook friends with some of my friends from middle school!

2005- I met my current BFF in college (2004) and we are still BFFs!

2012- Same BFF from 2004, but now add in H.

Were you in a relationship?

1997- Nope, my first bf was when I was 15.

2005- I think I had just broken up with my high school sweetheart (who was the my first bf at age 15). Looking back I think, thank goodness!

2012- Dating H!

1997- Umm, everything 90's. Third Eye Blind, Matchbox 20, scrunchies, mixed tapes, friendship bracelets.

2005- My favorite college memory was meeting my BFF looking for the same class. She sat next to me the first day of class and debated whether or not to on the next day (she thought I didn't like her, but in my defense I was super introverted). Glad she decided to still sit next to me!

2012- My first few dates with H were awesome. Out of the few guys I met online, he was the only one who insisted on picking me up and he brought me flowers on our first date.

1997- I was in elementary school... I think 3rd grade. I took dance lessons.

2005- I was a junior in high school. I was on the newspaper staff and worked part-time at a local sporting goods store. I was a cheerleader the year before but decided not to try out again.

2012- I had just started working at my current company.

Who was your best friend? Are you still friends?

1997- A girl named Courtney and a girl named Beth. No idea what happened to Courtney, but Beth and I are FB friends.

2005- A girl named Kelly and a girl named Jessica. Had huge falling outs with both.

2012- I had just moved back to the Dallas area, so I didn't really have a best friend here. All of my BFFs were still in Austin.

2005- Eh, I was in an off-on crappy "relationship"

2012- I was dating my H!

1997- Spice Girls! And my little brother's birth.

2005- Hmmm there was a really crappy event that happened this year that I can't post about, but I was really depressed and spent that year in therapy. 2005 was not a great year for me.

2012- I moved in with my H in May of 2012 because in March of 2012 my apartment became infested with bed bugs and in April of 2012 it was infested with spiders. Fun times. In June of 2012 we had another bed bug issue because the exterminators did not properly treat it the first time. I'm still paranoid as hell about bed bugs, especially in hotels.

@beachyone15 Your best friend story is exactly the same as mine! It was my first college class, first day at 8am and the lecture hall had 300 seats. This girl plops directly next to me and introduces herself and I was just like "What? Why are you sitting next to me? Why are you talking to me? Look at all the empty seats." hahahah but I'm so glad she did!

2005- graduated high school and started college... Worked as an in store demonstrator (people who give out free samples), cheered, secretary of SGA (hs)
2012- worked for a temp agency that treated me like garbage and then November of that year got my first job with my current company. Also started my masters that August.

1997- my first best friend was from when I was 2 and we were still inseparable at this point, I think I also met my current best friend this year.
2005- 2 childhood best friends, one from hs, and my college roommate. started growing apart from my first friend, still consider her family but we barely ever talk. Other childhood friend is my soulmate. College roommate is like another sister and her son is my nephew. The one from hs turned into the psycho bride.. Friendship ended after her wedding in 2012.
2012- 2nd childhood friend, college roommate, another girl from college, and my boyfriend. Still close with all the girls. The two friends from college are the ones who have kids and who are my nieces and nephew. The childhood best friend is the one who I have to talk about outfits because on more than one occasion we've shown up somewhere in the same outfit. Going on 6 years with bf

1997- I had lots of boyfriends. We'd pass notes in class that was the extent of relationships in 5th grade haha
2005- my controlling ex, unfortunately was with him through 2009, and didn't see the signs of abuse till after he was long gone.
2012- after two years of casually dating my boyfriend and I agreed we were actually dating haha.

2012- first vacation I took with my bf. We met a bunch of friends in ocean city, Maryland, after we spent a night at Harrahs in Atlantic City.

1997- I was in 1st grade so I think I was playing rec league soccer and doing gymnastics

2012- I had just graduated college with my Bachelors of Science in Biology and got my first job as a recruiter and moved into my first apartment by myself.

1997- LOL I can't remember...probably someone in the neighborhood and No we are not friends because I can't even remember her name lol.

2005- My best friend was one of my bridesmaids KayLeigh and yes we are still friends.

2012- KayLeigh and I were still friends then and I talk to a few girls now that I was friends with when I graduated. I also met DH in 2012 and we are still friends....sometimes lol.

1997- Oh yes a very serious relationship with a boy down the street. We had plans for marriage.

2005- Yes, my first long term relationship. We dated for almost 3 years lol.

2012- I broke up with my ex and started dating DH this year.

1997- Song- probably spice girls anything; Movie- anything Disney; Life event- I remember doing a lot with girl scouts around this time.

2005- In law school, I was studying at UT-Austin and then in London for a semester abroad in law school that year

2012- Working at a large law firm in Chicago...and by working I mean I had no life outside of work, Raj, H (BF and FI in 2012) and taking care of my Dad.

1997- Nikki (she is a FB friend now and still awesome), Becky (same), and Brian (same...though the latter dated both Nikki and Becky...yeah, that was awkward).

2005- Cristina...yes, she is still one of my best friends

2012- Cristina, Clare and Nancy (all three bridesmaids at my wedding in 2014)

1997- Ha! I "dated" a guy who was an uber, uber Christian. We held hands like once and never kissed.

2005- Yes, I broke up with a guy I was dating in 2005 when I went to London and started dated someone else when I returned to Austin. I was single in London and it was glorious.

2012- Yes, with H (then BF)

1997- I was really into choir...I had a great group of friends and loved to sing. I did a ton of competitions in high school and I remember I got to go to sing at Carnegie Hall in 1997.

2005- London was an amazing experience. While "studying" there I traveled to Denmark, Scotland, Egypt, Cyprus, Hungry, Germany, Austria, etc., etc. Pretty much every weekend I was traveling to a different country and it was one of the best times of my life.

2012- H and I got engaged in 2012 and that was hands down my favorite memory of the year.

2012- A colleague from a networking group. She is Irish and had the best laugh. I miss her! We're still FB friends but we've both moved so we don't see each other often.

2005- I loved living in Tampa, had great times going out with my gfs, going to the beach, running a lot. Life was good!

2012- Getting married was by far the highlight. Getting to see so many of my friends and family through the showers and wedding.

1997- I was 7-8 years old, so I spent a ton of time running around outdoors with our neighbors, and playing piano.

2005- End of sophomore, beginning of junior year of high school. I played tennis and was in the school bands.

2012- This was the year after I graduated college, so I moved down to Portland for my job! I tried to make new friends, and started learning how to enjoy beer!

1997- Michelle. She was my best friend for over a decade. Then I went to college and realized there were LEGIT friends out there. She sucked.

2005- Michelle was still my best friend, even though she used me pretty badly.

2012- I made a couple of somewhat good friends at work. I didn't keep many friends from college. So I don't think I had a best friend in 2012.

Were you in a relationship?

1997- Nope. But my Barbies were all in relationships.

2005- No. I was insanely in love with an emo boy that wouldn't ask me out, so I didn't want to date anyone else.

2012- This was the year I tried my first lesbian relationship. Needless to say, it did not work out, and I met my current BF in October!

1997- Nsync and Britney. That's pretty much all I got.

2005- I wore pretty much all black. I spent a lot of time watching reruns of The Nanny.

2005- I was a Jr./Sr. I did dance competitively and also cheered. I also worked at a diner.

2012- I had just graduated college, was coaching my first team, and working in payroll at a Visiting Nurse place.

1997- Steph and Ashley. I am friends with them on FB.

2005- Ray, Jess and Lauren. I still talk to Ray often, and Jess and Lauren I just see on FB.

2012- Ray still.

1997- No, but I was boy crazy growing up.

2005- Yup with BF.

1997- I also loved Titanic, and my mom said she would bring me to the movies if I got 100 on my spelling test. I got a high 80, so Steph and I switched papers so I could see it. Also that year we had a deaf boy named Kyle in our class, so we learned sign language and I can still do some to this day.

2005- Can't remember anything too special.

2012- My step dad actually had heart surgery 4 years ago yesterday. My "on this day" tells me that 4 years ago I went to visit him in the hospital.

1997- I was in middle school and loved it (hence why I teach middle school today)

2005- Sophomore year of college. I did everything that was bad for you in excess (drink, smoke, party). And I worked at the gap.

2012- Began working at the middle school and dating my BF (now my H)

1997- BFFLs with Allison and yes we are still friends! She was a BM in my wedding.

2005- Still Allison...throughout high school and college

2012- My SIL, Allison and my college BFFL

1997- Being a kid. I either did ballet or gymnastics.

2005- Early college shit. So I was drinking a lot and hooking up. Life was a parrrrtayyyyy.

2012- Working as an accountant and TRAVELING ALL THE TIME BECAUSE I WAS SINGLE AND FREE.

Who was your best friend? Are you still friends?

1997- My neighbor. Whenever he comes into town (he lives abroad) we hang out for an evening with his whole family and a bunch of other friends.

2005- I honestly don't remember who my bff was at that time, but really I don't talk to any of my friends from that time period any more.

2012- My married couple friends that live in FL and I became much closer that year (I went to visit them twice). We still try to get together any chance we get!

Were you in a relationship?

1997- No way, jose. I was a child!

2005-Well, if that's what you call a 2 month hook-up fling, then sure. Otherwise, no.

2012- At the beginning of the year yes, rest of the year hell no.

1997- Kid stuff, like climbing trees and playing in the woods. Probably listened to the Spice Girls.

2005-Natty light. Deep v tank tops. Lots of partying and not enough studying, haha.

2012-My fave thing about that year was also the worst part of that year, I had a really nasty breakup. But it helped me realize my self-worth and I started to do things that I had missed, like traveling all over the place to visit friends.

1997- A couple girls that were in my Sunday School class. Sort of still friends.

2005- All the high school stuff that comes along with graduation, starting college. My first class in college was an early morning Calc II class. It was raining and flooding that day, so I was a couple minutes late and sloshing through the door.

2012- We started our vegetable garden that year. We had our first anniversary pictures done with Bella. We got Baxter about a week after our first anniversary pictures. He was a terror. I had foot surgery. We went to Albuquerque and Las Cruces for Thanksgiving. I had a really thin green cardigan that I loved to death... it was falling apart and H finally made me throw it out.

@wink0erin your 2012 was my 2009! I was finally making great money, no bills, no boyfriend. That year alone I went to Greece, Mexico, DC, Seattle, Vegas, San Deigo

@jenna8984 - I have to say, working at a cardboard box factory sounds HELLA invigorating, haha. Thank you for your love. I was thinking to myself, what were the first things I did in Portland? I loved the street my ex-GF lived on because there was a store with the biggest cheese counter I've ever seen. I knew exactly where to spend my hard earned adult money! Haha!

I know no one asked me, but the best cheese is cave-aged Gruyere. I promise I've done my research.

@alpacina haha oh it was!! The 2 outside pieces of cardboard are called Sheets. The piece in between them that squiggles back and forth is called Medium. If there are 2 sandwiches of this glued together, it's stronger and called Double Wall. 3- triple wall. They are rated for their stacking ability- you wouldn't want to stack 44w boxes full of stuff or they will crush too easily. LOL. Hey it was great when me and my friends moved- I could have as many boxes as I wanted! The design kid even made us all custom cat claw scratchers with the scraps!

And I swear the best burger of my life was in San Diego and was covered in Gruyere!!! It probably wasn't cave-aged though.

2012- I was working as a Social Worker in Philly and living with my brother

2005- My friend and I were obsessed with Jimmy Eat World. And My Chemical Romance. Basically any emo music. Also I had one of those studded belts that I loved.

2012- I was obsessed with watching ER and knitting. I had no friends in Philly so, yeah. I'm such an asshole.. I also moved in with H (then BF) at the end of 2012.. That should be more memorable than my ER binges.

@jenna8984 From August to the end of 2012 I went on sooo many trips. A lot were quick weekend road trips so I didn't have to take time off of work. Before then I had never driven more than 3 hours by myself. It was amazing and made me realize how much I love getting out and seeing new places! My ex never wanted to go anywhere. He also was manipulative and emotionally abusive, so I had been isolated for a couple years by that point, I felt so FREE.

@alpacina I am intrigued by your knowledge of fine cheeses. CAVE-AGED Gruyere? Come on. I need that.

I needed this today...a welcome distraction from the general stress of my life. And depression.

Where did you live?

1997- Central OK

2005- Also Central OK

2012- Still Central OK

What were you doing (school/work/ activities)?

1997- I was 11, so, 6th grade. I was in middle school and absolutely miserable (and starting my "ping-pong middle school" period--I went to 2 different schools and spent a year homeschooled). I was being bullied and had a bad perm and glasses and orthodontia. And taking a lot of ballet classes...1997 was the first summer I went to a summer intensive.

2005- I was a sophomore/junior in college. It was also the first summer that my undiagnosed bipolar disorder came calling in a really ugly way. The first part of it was a really bad year but I started pulling myself together about September.

2012- I was in my PhD program and working as an adjunct prof.

Who was your best friend? Are you still friends?

1997- NOT my sisters...according to my mother I was horrible to them the year I was 11. I was also good friends with two girls, Sarah and Meagan. Sarah died in an accident when we were in 8th grade; Meagan and I are still friends although we don't see each other very often.

2005- This was the year I met my BFF. She thought I was a stuck up bitch at first, but then I came to class trying to cover up a hickey on my neck with my hair (and failing miserably) and we've been BFFs ever since.

2012- My BFF and I are still BFFs. And now BF, of course. And I'm much closer to my sisters :-)

Were you in a relationship?

1997- Yep. His name was Brent and he took me to my first dance at school. And we'd sit together at lunch sometimes.

2005- Ugh, yes. My college boyfriend wasn't necessarily a bad guy, but...we should NOT have been together. We stayed together on and off until 2011 though.

2012- BF and I were dating, except I didn't exactly realize that's what we were doing (we were having lunch together once a week and occasionally finding ourselves accidentally-in-purpose in situations where we would make out like high schoolers).

1997- I got contacts this year, which was pretty awesome because I got to abandon my round ugly glasses.

2005- This was the year I read The Poisonwood Bible for the first time. It's still my favorite book and I try to re-read it every couple of years

2012- BF and I ended up in DC at the same time that summer...he was there for a conference and I was doing research. (Yes, I scheduled the research trip knowing when he would be there.) It was the first time I really thought, "I want to be with this person, and hopefully forever."

1997- 'Dating' some shmuck, I'm sure...OH WAIT! I remember! I started dating an ex from 9th or 10th grade. All was going well, just a couple of teenage pot heads 'in love'...and then meth hit the market...and he was hooked. Ended that quickly!

2005- Nope!

2012- H and I were 2 or 3 years in.

1997- C'Mon Eileen - the Save Ferris version, 10 Things I Hate About You, I had this mint green plaid/tweed pants that I was crazy about!

2005- Harry Potter! Charlie & the Chocolate Factory! Narnia! I had a lot of favorite movies that year. Other than that, Bean turned 3!

2012- Obama! And I got to spend the weekend with @swazzle and some other awesome ladies. I loved it.
