Bridal Party Colors

Hi all! Just needing some advice...

My wedding is in October 2013 want to have my BMs in buttercup yellow with deep red/orange/yellow bouquets. What do you think? What do you think that groomsmen should wear?

Thanks!
Ash

[QUOTE]Whoa! Put on the brakes here! It's way too soon to be worrying about the attendant attire now.  Wait until next spring, at the earliest.  That gives you more time to decide what you want and styles will change several times between now and then.  There's no reason to worry about that now, and you don't want them to shell out NOW for clothes that will just hang in their closets for another year. What your fiance's WP wears is up to him.

I completely agree with the first part, but if I told my FI that he was responsible for his groomsmen and what they wear, he'd probably faint (heehee).

A really kind way of collaborating/helping the groom is to go with him to his suit consultation appt.  His level of comfort with fashion decisions can be catered to that way.  You can either just be cheerleader, or you can be like me and be a handholder while he decides on his tux and the groomsmen tuxes.

The best part about these appointments is that you can bring swatches of fabrics in your colors, and have the attendant dress up a manaquin in various styles. That way you can 'see it in action', so to speak.  It was really helpful to us!

  • I second going with him to a suit consultation (if he is open to it. My FI seemed relieved he wouldn't be left on his own to pick things out!) For the most part I let him pick what his was favorite and then just offer suggestions here and there. He ended up picking a slightly lighter blue than I was thinking for his groomsmen (the girls are in sky blue, they're in a darker blue) but it was his favorite, and they don't clash, so it was fine with me. And now I have all the shades so I can coordinate which is an added bonus.

But yeah, we just looked at suits this weekend for my wedding in April (and that's a little early based on some check lists) so I wouldn't stress yourself about it. You have plenty of time.
