Where does this stuff go?

I apologize if this should be common knowledge but I can't remember from weddings I've been to. Does the card box and guest book go on the same table? We are doing a large photo matte for our guest "book" and a mailbox for the cards. I also have pictures (from parents weddings) and a little precious moments figurine I'd like to set out. Does all of this stuff go on the same table and if not, where do the pictures go? With the card box or the guest book? And if it doesn't matter, where do you think the best place to put that stuff would be?

    DD had the card box on a separate table (close to where people found their place cards). Guest book and parents' wedding pictures were together on another table. I don't know that there are any rules regarding this, though.

    I don't think there are any real rules. Make a list of EVERYTHING that will need to go on a table, then divide it up where it makes sense. We had escort cards and parents/grandparents wedding pics on one table, and a card box and guest book on another table, I think.

    One thing to consider is after the reception starts, there will be no more escort cards, and usually the card box is put away, so you still want the tables to look pretty/useful after that.

    I always think of the guest book being something done prior to the ceremony and a card box is at the reception site to go along with a space for gifts guests may bring.

    I like this idea. I have no idea where my guest book photo mat was but less than 15 people of my 225 person wedding signed it. Including my wasted brother who texted me the next am "I'm really sorry but I have no idea what i wrote on your guests thing, I think it might be inappropriate because all i remember is I was laughing so hard afterwords". 
    Nothing inappropriate just "LOVE<3 NICKY" that took up more than 1/4 of the entire mat. I think its really funny.

    Sorry, cant' help you. We used the venues card box which was a locked box built into the cake table so people just dropped their cards into the slot. And for guest book, we got bottles of our favorite wine & put it on each table with a marker & everyone signed them. We pull out a bottle each year on our anniversary and enjoy the wine and actually look at who signed that bottle. To be honest, if I would have done a regular book, not sure I would ever look at it again.
