Me too. I also find it crazy when people who have been married for 20+ years hate each other after their divorce. One of my co-workers is like this.

Lol, no. Usually Oliver has the Today Show or something on in the morning, but he left early when I was still in the shower and I was just doing a little cleaning after that, so no TV. And I listen to NPR in the car, so no celeb news there, either. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />
Beachy, my parents divorced after 26 years. I can't say it WASN'T surprising. It was also following my grandmother's death and both of Maria's parents have died in the past 2 years, so I wonder if that contributed to her emotional turbulence, so to speak.
I have clients that are divorcing after probably 40+ years. Ya... they bought a property to build a new house, and I'm halfway through the design of it and now they are getting a divorce. So.... they are trying to break the deal. Sorry, we can't do that.

Probably one or both of these. A divorce during a political term would probably be even more of a tabloid nightmare then it's going to be now.

You have a point. I guess it goes along with the romance of the aura of the Kennedy family - "American royalty" and all that. Just wanting it to work out and wanting success to come to the family.
I just saw that. It's kind of surprising, but in a way, not really because it was still a hollywood marriage. 25 years is pretty much 'forever' there...

It didn't ruin Camelot for you when Teddy drove that poor girl off the bridge?
Kidding - it may only be funny if you live here ;)

Yeah 25 years is a really long marriage in celebrity world. I actually just googled last night to see if Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were still married after I saw something on TV about her. They've been married since 1988, so 23 years now.
dn, I just saw something in People magazine about Kevin Bacon and his wife (Kyra Sedgewick??) - they've been married something like 22 years - and that's a big one, too!
I also hope I didn't jinx them. They are probably one of my favorite hollywood couples.
I think there's obviously something to be said about staying out of the spotlight. Obviously they both have great careers, but they are rarely in the tabloids. I love seeing them at awards shows and stuff though!
I saw that on my phone earlier. It is beyond me while people divorce after that long. Even though sometimes I think my parents would be happier if they went their seperate ways. Its like, you have put up with each other for that long, why divorce and start over that late in life?

I dunno, my parents were in their early 50s and my mom claimed she didn't want to be miserable for another possibly 30 years.

And there you have it!
Although, better divorced than murderd.
I think I will go into an official state of mourning if Tom and Rita ever break up.
Agreed. I don't remember the last time I saw them in the news/tabloids...
Oh, and haven't Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman been married for almost 30 years or so?
