TV Binge - What next??

So our wedding was 2.19.16 and it was magical and everything I expected and more....and now I have time to breathe, relax and do whatever I want without worrying about planning a wedding :)
Therefore, I have begun binge watching everything like crazy LOL and I need help picking my next show!  I just finished Shameless and Homeland and I am all caught up with those (and loved both) and would love to start another Showtime Series but can't decide which direction to go....any advice or ideas???

Re: TV Binge - What next??

  • I think Dexter is a showtime series, it was addictive. And it has about 8 series or something so your binge will last a while. Other than that, we recently finished Jessica Jones which we really liked. It's Marvel, so if you like superhero shows I definitely recommend.

  • Dexter is definitely at the top of my list based on some recommendations from people at work! Thanks @glasgowtolondon !
  • Yes to Dexter (which is better in binge-watching form than watching it weekly was anyway).

Others to watch if you have not:

    Orange is the New Black
    Game of Thrones
Gilmore Girls (I find people either love it or hate it)
    Sons of Anarchy
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • I found sons of anarchy too cringey to take seriously @madamerwin - I really did try because Charlie Hunnam is unbelievably hot. If he'd filmed it shirtless and I'd watched it on mute I might have tried harder. Loved OITNB though.

  • Masters of Sex (Showtime).
And, if you liked Homeland you might enjoy The Americans, which is an FX show that you can watch free if you have Amazon Prime (may be available other places too).
Also second many other shows mentioned including Dexter and Jessica Jones.

Fair point... It IS really violent. I think I have become desensitized to it over time. Game of Thrones is even worse! I will say I had a lot of trouble with Breaking Bad. I watched it because H watched it, but I really didn't like it. I was relieved when it was over.

Speaking of Breaking Bad, anyone watch Better Call Saul? It's a spinoff,  but it's a dark comedy. Not nearly as sad or violent.

  • I have done Sons of Anarchy and loved it! I tried so hard to get into Breaking Bad and could not, was disappointed in myself lol, but I just couldnt get into it. I am caught up with OITNB and I have watched Gilmore Girls and am constantly watching repeats :)
I think I may try Dexter, Masters of Sex was on the list as well!
  • Oh - also - for something light and funny Crazy Ex-Girlfriend recently wrapped its first season and has been renewed. The lead actress won a Golden Globe and Critic's Choice award. Watch "Feelin' Kinda Naughty" on youtube to get a feel for the show.

  • Definitely Dexter. Breaking Bad, Madmen, How to Get Away with Murder.

Netflex had an original "love" that I enjoyed.  Extremely dry comedy.  You won't laugh.  Maybe snort out loud :)  Created by Judd Apatow.

edit:  I'm not sure if you're watching these on the showtime app/channel or Netflix?  I don't have showtime channel :(

Not really a binge-r I don't have the attention span, and also not a fan of anything too serious/with violence, but The Office was great.  It only took me 4 months to finish its nine seasons (which is very quick for me, a testament to its watchability).  Funny and enjoyable :)

    Dexter
    Scandal
    Call the Midwife

I've started throwback binge-watching Roswell, so there's that if you're ever feeling like reliving your middle school TV glory.
